Re: Cat spraying indoors!

I would honestly think about adding Cystophan to all their foods... Isn't Cystophan for recurrent cystitis and for lower tract urinary diseases? I used to give it to my cat when she developed a recurrent cystitis. Yes, Cystophan helps to support glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer of the bladder. It also...

Re: Cat spraying indoors!

I would honestly think about adding Cystophan to all their foods...it just chills them out (I bought mine from Amazon) . Your stray is definitely suffering from anxiety, hence the reason he is sprays. I would also add another litterbox too. Feliway did not work for us, with the spraying (it was good...

Re: I need some sleep!

I admit I have now succumbed to Oscar coming back into the bedroom. However, in my defence, it has been very cold and his little ears get very chilly !! I have put him back on Cystophan and he has stopped licking the covers. I have read that it could be a sign of anxiety and Cystophan has always wor...

Re: Cat toys and activities

After spending a small fortune on Oscar (the latest addition is a water fountain...which he walks past to get to the tap!!), Oscar LOVES plastic strips. Just long bits of plastic that come on the likes of electrical cable etc. These keep him entertained for hours, in fact last night he brought one u...

Re: my cat is being bullied by neighbourhood cats

Thanks everyone. I never thought about spreading his litter, I might give that a try. Just a bit of an update, the bossy female that's been leading the assault started to approach him the other day. He left the house under my watch, she immediately clocked him and started her way toeards him, he ju...

Re: Potting on bed

Ewwww! I know someone whose daughter awoke to a scrabbling sound and a spattering sensation on her face ... her cat had had diarrohea, on the bed, and was cleaning up anxiously afterwards and ... well ... yes ... :o  If that happened to me I'd DIE! Seemingly the cat never did it again. Thank...

Re: my cat is being bullied by neighbourhood cats

Thankyou, its something we have given some thought to. Our back garden is quite large and surrounded by a very tall fence, and the only route of access is through the house as it backs on to other gardens, but we have never seen another cat on the fence or indeed in the garden, I think the fence is...

It really depends on what day of the week it is and what mood our little prince is in, if he eats Sheba or not!!! As a feeder rather than an eater, I always think the Gourmet range looks better...but what the hell would a human like me know

Re: I need some sleep!

When I got a house of my own and decide to have cats I made a decision, they would not be allowed in the bedroom at night, and so far i have managed to keep the rule. There have been a few times when the meowing and the scratching almost made me give in but i have managed so far to bury my head und...

Trust him! Apart from breeding queens going into labour in my bed, bringing me kittens to s...

Firstly ladies, can I say...the above were ALL the wrong answers! Re: Cat Pees Outside Litterbox

I’ve just started watching episodes of ‘My cat from hell’ Wow, there are so many cats with issues in this world...however the one thing the behaviourist deals with every episode is ‘inappropriate peeing’ and every cat seemed to have a different reason why! However, whatever your kitty is getting ups...

Re: Blood in urine

We moved last week... I have Oscar on 2 x Cystophan and 2 x Kylkene. I asked the vet if that was OK and he said as they are both herbal, no harm to keep him on them as long as it takes. Frankly, I would have him on whiskey too, if I thought it would work (I'm having it to calm myself down). I also ...

At the vet's suggestion last week, I upped his Cystophan to 2 daily. I also went round to have a chat with her yesterday. She advised me to go on giving Blackie 2 tablets for the next 10 days. I asked if I should bring him in again but she thought it better to leave it until the Cystophan course is...

As my vet charges over £25 for a medium bottle of Metacam, I was thinking of ordering online as I see it’s so much cheaper. Just a thought red wine lady - does your cat get on with other cats? My adult cat had separation anxiety actually, she would really suffer when I left the house for too long, which was one of my biggest motives for getting a second cat - because he was so boisterous, it was hard for her, but really...

I gave £70 of special food to our local cat welfare because of Mr Oscar and his fussy ways. Glad I'm not the only one - local cat rescue does pretty well out of Tilly as well! On the subject of dry food, my Badger cat would only ever eat a few mouthfuls of wet food and leave the rest to Tilly. I ga...

Being a cat owner is the most difficult job in the world, brain surgery must be a doddle compared to being cat slave!
