Re: outdoor shelter
I found a few on eBay that were listed as plastic kennels. This one in Iver ends in a couple of hours and is at £20 (not sure if it is the small though) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plastic-dog-kennel-house-shelter-weatherproof-/172157376747?hash=item28156118eb:g:l~MAAOSwll1WxkXJ Huddersfield 'Buy it ...

Re: outdoor shelter
We have a Snugs (used to be called Mr Snugs) small dog kennel in the garden. Kylie used to practically live in it :) - she doesn't go out a lot these days, but the others often use it to shelter from the rain. Not cheap, but they last forever. Ours has been in the garden for at least 10 yeears. The...

I have one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kerbl-Cat-House-Lodge-77/dp/B0030J2B8W/ref=sr_1_4?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1460588299&sr=1-4&keywords=cat+house It's not as sturdy or snug as the Mr Snugs but it's very cute and is fine for a temporary/day shelter. I nailed the flap on ...

Re: outdoor shelter
I have left out a Mr Snugs kennel for years now, with a lining during the winter - they are not cheap but I can vouch for them being weatherproof and seemingly indestructible Thanks Kay! It was the Mr Snugs one that I saw on Amazon for abut fifty pounds. The reviews are mainly excellent, although s...

Hello Now the evening's are light I often leave one of my cats outside for the day, however I am always reluctant to leave him if the weather doesn't look overly promising, so sometimes he is left in when it's raining and then typically it brightens up and I end up feeling guilty that he's left in! ...

cleaning up urine
What does everyone use to clean up urine (spray)? I don't know if the biological washing powder, surgical sprit option is just too time consuming and perhaps a special spray would be best? Other than 'Fourpaws Industrial Cleaner' which has already been recommended are there anymore favourites?

Re: Serial Sprayers?
With us, it's not the boys but the girls that spray! Willow did it once and tripped the switch. We thought it might be damp in the greenhouse, so we isolated the 'outside' (greenhouse, shed and caravan). Eventually we tracked it down to a socket in the caravan! She had got shut in and panick...

Re: Serial Sprayers?
Hi there - I've had them in the past. The simplest case was a rehabilitated tomcat - he was middleaged, feral and un-neutered when he arrived, and it took neutering and about 8 months, as I remember, for his testosterone levels to fall, pretty messy and smelly till then, but after that he was good ...

Re: Serial Sprayers?
i have had serial sprayers and have lost various electronic items because of it! At one stage I was going through a DVD player a week! they were all neutered, and most sorayers were boys but I have had females do it too. in my case it was stress from overcrowding. I rescue and had too many cats in ...

Just wondered how many of you have cats that are serial sprayers? If so how long has it been going on, do you know why it happens and more importantly how do you deal with it?
Thanks in advance

Re: Indoor cat needing outdoors: which option is best??
Hi I am in a very similar situation. I have two cats and I have issues with both of them. Firstly we have Storm who is a serial sprayer, so much so that he spends time outside and when he comes in he has to stay in the kitchen/diner which isn't a huge amount of space. Secondly we have Alfie his brot...

Hi Below is my original post to which I didn't have any replies to. My cat Alfie, who is a house cat was treated for giardia last year with a course of panacur worming paste and anti biotics. His loose smelly stool problem cleared up, although I think he now has it again. Both my cats are due to hav...

Re: ethical cat food help
have you considered finding a good quality grain free dry food, and adding home cooked meat and fish - that doesn't break the bank, and gives you more control over their diet - even better raw meat if acceptable I have 6 different varieties of biscuit on the go here, and add in cooked chicken breas...

ethical cat food help
I think I am over complicating matters…..my cats were on Whiskas for quite a few years, until I discovered how unethical some brands were, and also how low the meat content was. Ie 4% in most supermarket foods! So after someone kindly sent me a tin of yarrah organic, my cats have been having the tin...

Hi, no I am in the UK! Yarrah is an organic food from the Netherlands, I buy it from Zooplus, arden grange is a uk food. I didn't want to change alfies food unnecessarily but have read about grains not being very good. I have bought some yarrah grain free but it comes in trays not cans so a bit more...

Help! Alfie seems to suffer from the odd smelly and loose stool from time to time, he is up to date with his vacs, worming and flea treatment. I think it could be either his food or the fact that he will regularly pick things up off the floor such as a bit of hay that has come in from the back garde...

Re: Advice on cat harnesses and leads for an indoor cat.
One of my cats has been going out in our garden for the past few years on a harness. I was lucky enough to be given mine from someone on another cat forum. Unfortuantely I don't know where it came from but its just a fabric one that goes round his neck and tummy. He was a bit wary of it at first esp...

Re: It's Baby Bird Season again...
Very good advice. I actually encourage the birds in my garden, but I am very vigilant about when one of my cats can go out and when he does, I always walk down the bottom of the garden first to alert any birds that may be in the hedges to leave. Bit extreme I know but I adore feeding the birds so I ...

Re: Ultimate cat toy suggestions?
Alfie has a stripy cat boing toy which is on string which I bought from Ebay. He carries it around the house all the time, I ended up buying a couple of spare as its almost like a comfort toy for him. Storm likes plastic springs, he puts his paws on them and gnaws at them! They both like the pop up ...
