Re: How can they do this

I'm so sorry to hear about your poor kitten.

Can your Vet back you up in reporting them to the RSPCA or your equivalent and the police? Those other cats need help to be rescued from this awful couple.

RIP little kitten, my Kitten and Mischa will look after you at Rainbow Bridge.

"OK, wheres the beer and crisps - its a hard life!"

Great photo, Denver also sprawls out on the sofa but he lies straight with his paws up in the air!

Re: retained kittens/interrupted labor

I don't have any experience with this, as Mischa had an easy labour with her 3, but if you can still feel something, I would get her to the Vet ASAP to be checked over. If you ask, I expect your Vet would let you or the owner pay in instalments?

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: I have a cat shaped hole in my life :(

Welcome to CC from me too. When Mischa passed to Rainbow Bridge in February, a friend said to me "I'll give it 6 months before you have the patter of paws again". I just didn't believe her at the time - I thought I'd reached my limit with how many times I could have my heart broken when yo...

Re: help please for my moms 21 year old cat . . So sad

I'm sorry I can't really offer any more advice, but I'm thinking of you Julie.

Oldies do sleep a lot, as Kitten and Mischa were elderly, its been quite a challenge adapting to Denver, who always wants to be outside most of the time!

I hope Molly is eating again soon.

My Denver does that low to high chirrup too! I think its a form of greeting. Strange that Ruby only does it when jumping in the kitchen though. The rest of the time, Denver sounds a bit like Simon's Cat - very high, short miaows. At least its distinctive so I know if he is around!

Re: Poor Dave

Well done, I just know Dave will have a great home with you! I'm using a "SureFlap" for Denver, it reads internal microchips so you don't need to worry about magnets. Its working very well for him, so I'd recommend that one. It is quite expensive at £90 plus 4 AA batts every 6 months or so...

Re: Hello!

Hi Sue If its any comfort, I don't think Denver actually caught it! It was a fairly small gull, so it was certainly last years crop (adult plumage) but Denver hadn't sustained any injuries or pecks, so it might have been a roadkill or natural causes body that he found. I have been attempting to give...

Re: Cat makes weird noises??

Well, Denver has taken his noises one step further! I get down this morning to find a fresh but very dead seagull in the litter tray! He must have either killed it or found it and dragged it through the flap. At least he didn't drag it all over the carpet.......... A lovely way (not) to start a Mond...

I hope things get better for you soon, Jill. Denver has given me a pressie this morning - a half eaten seagull carcass! At least he put it in the litter tray so it was easy (ish) to clean up..............but I can't help feeling I may have upset his feelings now - after I'd cleaned it all up and was...

My first cat Biscuit used to do that too, as well as funny little murmers at the birds.

And a few days ago I caught my new cat Denver, also glaring out of the window, chattering away at the seagulls! Such a funny, sweet little sound.

My late cat Kitten took 2 YEARS to trust us fully after being abandoned and lived wild in our Conservatory during that time. I would let Ruby dictate how quickly she settles, ...

Denver is used to being out during the day, so I will probably keep the flap fully operational both ways while I'm at work. He's currently snugged up on the sofa having a snooze! Hi Sarah. The actual flap has already been removed so theres only the hole left and he said he would do it today. He's been curled up on my lap, lying on his back so he seems happier than he was. He seems happiest in company so I need to get him used to the fact I work, so I am going to Church tom (...

Denver - how to keep him happy inside

I have a problem. I have just adopted Denver from my next door neighbour and I have fed him his breakfast (his first meal) just now. I agree with everyone else - please give him a chance. A few years ago a stray cat kept visiting us, and he had 3 good legs but 1 little fore stump, so we nicknamed him "Bad-Paw". He was quite a character and didn't seem to have any problems getting around just using his good legs. Please ...
