Re: Advice needed on sticking my nose in

I would suggest theft. My sister and I have actually discussed this quite a bit, even to the point of me hiring a car and transporting her myself to perhaps the next county when I come over for a holiday. Ideally we'd want her to have a good home rather than dumping her in a shelter, but she's just...

Advice needed on sticking my nose in

Hey guys. I was hoping for a little advice on something that has been gnawing at me for a few weeks. To explain: My sister lives with two roommates. One decided to get a 4 month old kitten about 6 months ago without asking anyone, at much annoyance to my sister and other roommate. I knew at the time...

Re: Question For All Cat Lovers.

This is sadly a very common reason for cats to end up in rescue, what makes me cynical about this is asking a 3 figure sum for the cat, I have to wonder if the disability is an excuse, and they are more interested in money - while asking for money detracts from the people that free to good home enc...

I keep trying to post recent photos them because I have some really cute ones (including Lola wearing some reindeer antlers at Christmas) but it keeps saying my images are too big :o( Are you trying to post them on here? I've had problems similar on this site. I'd recommend making using imageshack ...

Re: Cat behaviour - I need to re-home. Please help.

It's really a tough situation but (and I know I'm probably going to get grrs for this) your little baby is what comes first, and if they're soiling his cot that is a bad sign and of course bad for your baby's health. The scratching is also not on and scary to hear. I've suggested some points below b...

Re: Moving (Quicker or Gradual Change?)

I haven't owned an outdoor cat personally but I can give you a few tips from my friends and family. Making sure your cats are micro-chipped is important if you think you're going to have any problems with any of them trying to return home. 5 minutes isn't a lot by car so it shouldn't be more than 20...

Re: Cat chew toy ideas for an annoyed teacher

How old is Sofi now? is she getting new teeth? She's 3, so I hope not  Are the pencils/pens unused? or just the ones that have your 'scent' on them? I don't know about unused ones as I buy all my stationary from our local and put them into my pencilcase or workbag while there to save them gi...

I admit, as much as I love animals I can't quite get over snakes with their toilet habits. I owned rabbits for 14 years and got over the whole "eating poop is good" thing but I can't quite get over snake mess after babysitting a friends green snake. (Don't ask me what breed it was, all I k...

Re: why does my cat love to eat plastic strips?

This is actually a condition. It's called "pica" and a lot of other animals and humans have it too. It means they'll crave something not normally meant for consumption. I had the same problem with my uncles cat. He'd chew through any wires he could reach. In the end I coated any cables tha...

I had the same problem as well. My cat had no idea that play time bites and scratches hurt me (at least I hope!) and for a little while I had a few plasters. Now she's much better and even allows little chin and tummy rubs! (warning, long boring cat owner talk is about to commence!) With your cat be...

I had to laugh at the title of that vid though...music to help your cat sleep. Even my manic Molly spends most of her life asleep. One of the truest things I ever read about cats was, 'how come they don't get bedsores?' I have to agree with you there Lilith. If it's one thing a cat knows how ...

Hey there Jenni, If she's eating in general, even if it's not wet food it's a good thing. If you're worried she not getting enough water have you tried adding a little bit to her dry food to moisten it up a tad in order to encourage her? I'm not sure what else to add as our cat doesn't like wet food...

Hey guys, I scrolled back a bit, but couldn't find a similar thread. But I thought this would be fun to do. What little quirks do/does your cat(s) have? Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

When I took her to the vet the blood tests didn't show anything bad. She does love her water though. I thought maybe it was just a little quirk she had. I change her water maybe twice a day because she's a messy eater and tends to wash herself next to her water bowl a lot so it seems to get full of ...

Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

Sorry I forgot to mention before that I use the monthly crystal litter. Ours is called "Magic Clean" by a company called Vitakraft. It seems to be the popular one around here, but I've never seen it in Britain. I clean her tray every time I decant it with a cheap dish wash soap that's anim...

Throws are definitely a good way to go to protect your sofa from claws and fur. The double sided tape also works a charm if you're out a lot. If I find my cat scratching the sofa I give her the feather duster treatment as she's terrified of it, but my sister found that her kitten responded well to t...

I know what you mean about the stress. When we first got Sofi I felt like I was going to explode through the roof and I was sure the cat was aware of it. The sleepless nights of "where is she, is she on the bed? What if she hates me? What if she claws me and wakes me?" were prominent. Than...

I recently swapped Sofi from a horrible cheap Caprabo own brand to Purina "neutered" dry food. She fussed for 2 days but after that she was fine. (The vet recommended it for being much better on her tummy) Cats can be a very picky when it comes to food but my recommendation is don't give i...
