Re: 4 month old kitten goes wild outside.

Mine do that after being cooped up in the house all day. Maybe stay out with him for a while and watch him? You don't have to go to the lengths I do, though, and walk him up to the end of the road (very slowly)!

Re: Bee sting!

Kitty got stung by a bee a few years ago and I took her to the vets, where they gave her a jab of something and she was fine after a few hours. The swelling on her head went too.

Sending positive vibes.

My sister's cat had a cat scan last year (had to go from Surrey to Essex I think), and it was around £1000 if I recall correctly.

Re: How to stop cat hating guests

I find the only guests my cats tolerate are the ones they are familiar with, who they see me talking and laughing with. They then see they aren't a threat, but every cat is different. My sister's cats often go to shows and sit in their carrier and roll out on the rug to be stroked when people come r...

Expired medication

Anyone use flea treatment past the expiry date on the tube? My advocate has a june 17 expiry date (2 days ago). Presumably it would be ok to use for a week or so still?

Did they say it was grade 1? My Kitty was diagnosed with one when she was being speyed, but they never were able to repeat the diagnosis on subsequent visits.

My Kitty's colouring got darker (on her face particularly) as she got older.

Below at a few weeks:

Re: Mark on leg

LOL. Normally I can't see her nipples, but she's lost some fur so the ones at the bottom are visible. They are probably also more prominent because she had three litters of kittens when she was younger, before she came to me.

Absolutely. Thanks all for your concern.

The vet also put some flea treatment on her and she's snoozing in the sun now with the others, having forgiven now I think me for unceremoniously bundling her into a carrier last night.

Re: Mark on leg

Thanks for checking. My first thought was teats - I spend a long half an hour looking at pictures of cat nipples on the internet, but they all said they weren't visible unless pregnant. In the end I took her to the vet (can't make tomorrow) and the vet confirmed they are teats, but 2 of them are a l...

I've just noticed 2 lumps on her stomach:

I'm taking her to the vets tomorrow (if they have any appointments available).

Any ideas what these could be?

I'm really worried.

Re: Long Haired Cats in Hot Weather

It's too hot for any cat at the moment - in the high 80s (30c) in the SE. Mine don't want to come in, even though it's cooler inside. Once the sun sets they get active again. Sadly I don't have a fan (or aircon in the car - fun for a 110 mile round trip every day on the M25 to get to work!) They don...

I'll give it a go. There doesn't seem to be any discomfort or any obvious breaks in the skin, just a rather strange red mark.

Re: Advice - Cattery lost my boy

How dreadful for this to happen when you are away from home. How far is the cattery from your home? My mother used to run a cattery and once one of the cats did exactly the same thing. Fortunately they lived nearby and he didn't go far, and we managed to nab him, but obviously didn't ask for any pay...

Mark on leg

Hi A few days ago I noticed a strange mark on my cats thigh: 20170611_160137.jpg latest.jpg Any idea what this could be? I first thought it might be an abcess, but there doesn't seem to be any holes, no obvious lumps and it doesn't look like an abcess caused by a bite she had 3 years ago: 20140830_1...

Re: Cat litter

I used to use bog standard value clay clumping litter, but have recently swtiched to Morrisons Ultra Super Fine Clumping Cat Litter, as even urine collects into a ball and doesn't come apart easily, and can be hand-removed, meaning I only have to change it every week or so.

Mine have Purina One sensitive and have for years. I normally get the 800g bags when it goes down from 4.99 to £4, as it does every few weeks.

It actually smells quite nice. I've been tempted to try some...almost. :)

Have you tried Whiskas Creamy Soups if she's not keen on solids? They are quite runny and my cats love them.
