Re: Some very, very sad news....

Rest in Peace little Lilly. Once I was a lonely cat, just looking for a home. "I had no place to go" she said, "no one to call my own." "I wandered up and down the streets, in rain, in heat, and snow. I ate whatever I could find; I was always on the go." "My skin w...

Re: survet of irish vets

I agree. I think we need to change the whole outlook on FIV cats. They are not disabled and not something to fear and be put down upon diagnosis.
PS, thankyou jillyvillyvoo :)

Re: survet of irish vets

LOVE the idea Cussypat! I personally think a cat having FIV is very similar to HIV in the 80s. Nobody really knows what it is outside the community and therefore no one wants a cat with an unknown disease (I myself didn't know of its existence until I joined Catchat and educated myself) A lot of peo...

Re: Christmas Mog

Oh my! I had Mog's books when I was a kid! I guess they're a bit dog eared now from all the times I read them. I believe they're in my parents attic somewhere, next to the "Old Bear" stories no doubt! Not quite as good as John Lewis's contribution, but I approve none the less! It's nice to...

Re: best litter

Just a quick suggestion but we buy tray liner bags for our cat. They work a treat for cleaning out a cat tray and you don't need to wash it out afterwards. Just grab the bag and put it in another bin bag or tie it off! They're in budget (about 3 quid for a pack of 10 or 15 depending on where you go....

Thankyou everyone for the lovely comments and stories of your own! I'm just pleased as punch about how well she's done over the past 8 months. Yesterday was just the icing on the cake for me. (I've been teaching for too long today, all the old idioms keep coming out) I know I'm probably a little ove...

A milestone!

Hey gang! We've had Sofi since March, so more or less 8 months. She just celebrated her fourth birthday with us and after 4 owners I hope we'll be the last she has to get to know. We had a milestone this evening. The previous owner said she couldn't be stroked and we proved her wrong. She also said ...

Talking like a person

Hey all, I realised something today. We're all friends via our cats. Why else would we talk? If I saw you on the street I wouldn't know you, and yet we have at least one thing in common. I'd like to rectify that, so I'm going to post 5 things you probably don't know about me. Some things you may lik...

Re: Miracles can happen!

I'm presuming they probably thought he'd been run over or similar which is why they didn't update the chip. A little notice to owners with lost cats ;) There is always hope! I wouldn't judge the family on that too harshly though. I mean, when a cat disappears sometimes you never find them. If 6 mont...

Ah this is so helpful! I was actually going to post something similar as Sofi has started crawling behind our TV and leaning on it. I've tried to put up barricades and she just pulls them down with her claws or teeth. I'm actually considering screwing hte TV to the wall but it's not something I'm fo...

Looks sweet bobby! I tried making a pumpkin pie too but I think I got a bad pumpkin as the whole inside was rotten and brown :x I washed the good pips out and sprinkled them with sugar and cinnamon and toasted them under the grill though. They made for excellent Scary movie snacks! It's a real shame...

Re: Halloween Horrors

We've had a few firecrackers over here but Sofi is so used to them from the Saint George and Saint Joan holidays that she doesn't pay much mind to it anymore. The life of a city cat I suppose. Trick or treaters aren't really an issue but when one does ring the bell she's always at the door waiting t...

Beautiful tribute Crewella. It moved me to tears. I'm happy to hear he had such a good home. I'm sure his last moments were of spending time with you.

Rest in peace little fella. I hope you enjoy what lies at Rainbow Bridge.

I probably give my cat half a tin of tuna every month. I normally only do it for certain reasons like: We ran out of food on a Sunday and the shops aren't open. (oops! This has happened twice) She's accidentally been stepped on or kicked and I'm feeling guilty and she's moody for being accidentally ...
