Re: Claws....to clip or not to clip!

Kevs claws are whitish, and I've just had a look at Molly's and while they're not black they're definitely darker, which is probably why I don't notice them as much! That and the fact that she's not cuddly at all, she even hates being picked up  whereas Kev loves a morning snuggle in bed on my ...

Re: Claws....to clip or not to clip!

We call Kevin Mouse :) I'm sure he would let me, he loves having his 'toe beans' kissed!! Results in instant purring every time! Our Molly would never let us do it; flea day is bad enough!! I think his claws would literally only need about 1-2mm off. I think I'm going to give it a go once and see if...

Claws....to clip or not to clip!

Our youngest Kevin is 9 months now. So far he's an indoor cat as I just don't trust him not to go out the front into the road! I've noticed that his claws seem to always be visible poking out of his fur, and he's always chewing on them to trim them. He does get caught on things sometimes, but not to...

Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

When you say she uses it 4-5 times, is that just to wee? If so that definitely sounds like a lot. Our 2 generally do 1-2 poos a day(morning and evening), and between 1-3 wees. I think diet and water consumption will make a difference just like in humans, but if she's weeing more than 2-3 times a day...

Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

Oh, sorry forgot to add....watch the cat you think may have a problem. Note how many times she goes, and look at the litter after to see how much she's weeing. If either of these changes noticeably then get her to the vet for a check.

Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

I'm not sure how many cats you have, but we have 2 and we seem to have found a great solution...... We found that the wood pellet (not paper pellet) type hides smells the best. We have 2 large trays, and after trial and error we found that Asda's own wood pellet litter, approx. £2.79 a bag, is by fa...

Re: Cat mate fountain....algae?!

It's in the brightest part of our kitchen but doesn't get direct sunlight
Maybe that's part of the problem?

I just find it weird, it's only just started happening in the last month or so,
We've had it since December time and I don't think anything has changed??

Cat mate fountain....algae?!

Hi all!! My babies have a cat mate fountain (our boy loves it, our girl won't touch any form of water so I'm trying to keep it interesting for her!) I change the water every day and always give it a wipe to get rid of stray hairs etc, but I find that maybe every other day I have to really scrub off ...

Re: Little Batcat is missing since Saturday :-(

We did exactly the same when Molly went missing, we must have searched everywhere 3 or 4 times! My friend has no idea where her boy went but she said he seems fine if a little skinnier than when he left. I can't remember from previous posts if he's been 'done' or not, but when we got our boy done ou...

Re: Little Batcat is missing since Saturday :-(

A friend of mine's cat has just this morning turned up on her doorstep after 3 weeks!!! She had presumed him dead or taken in by someone else but this morning there he was, asking for breakfast like nothing had happened. There is still hope!

Ours don't have collars either. If you're in a rural area it's probably not as necessary; I really feel for you but I'm sure he will come back when he's ready.

Re: Little Batcat is missing since Saturday :-(

Poor Batcat! What I will say is that if he's simply not the kind of cat to stray, keep looking in every outhouse/shelter around your house. Our eldest Molly doesn't go further than 2 gardens in either direction. On Thursday night she went out about 7pm and didn't come back. We and our youngest cat w...

How do we let him out?

Our nearly 8 month old kitten Kevin is desperate to go out. His big sister Molly goes out and he's stRted trying to get out after her, and spends a lot of time sitting by the cat flap or trying to get out of windows!! We live on a fairly busy road, and trust Molly not to go near as she's scared of e...

Re: why cats stop eating all of a sudden?

When we first got her, Molly was so timid she hid for the first week, she was underweight and I could only get her to eat and to get her to trust me by feeding her from a teaspoon at the edge of her hidey hole. I don't know if she drinks when she's outside; as Kevin's still little he doesn't go out ...

Re: why cats stop eating all of a sudden?

She categorically won't touch Whiskas! I went to pets at home this evening and got 3 different boxes to try. We don't have kids so they're my babies, I don't want them to go without!

Re: why cats stop eating all of a sudden?

I must admit I have caught her licking her lips once or twice do I think she may be eating it on the sly so we don't see her! Kevin almost exclusively eats biscuits, he's really not that fussed about wet food. One trick I found did work momentarily was to put a few of her favourite beef treat pocket...

Re: why cats stop eating all of a sudden?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but our eldest Molly is worrying me a bit. We used to feed her and our kitten Kevin tesco finest cat food. Molly doesn't like fish or poultry food, only red meat/game! And she loved their food. Then we discovered aldi premium which was £1 cheaper and though we'd try it. ...

Re: Molly hates flea day!

I'm pleased to report that flea day went a million times better today!! It's definitely a 2 man job, but I think we've figured out the logistics. I pick them up and part the fur, and hubby squirts the flea stuff on! Molly's not keen on being picked up so she's too busy stressing about that to worry ...

I feel awful saying it, but inheritance is the only way I would be able to do it too!! I didn't really hVe much ambition at school, and I think because I didn't want to be a vet I dismissed working with animals. But I really wish Id have pursued it!

It did look pretty grey and processed to me to be fair, so I possibly would only have bought again if they fell on it like ravenous wolves!!

They both hate fish and poultry food though, and Molly won't even touch cooked chicken! Weird little babies :)

Re: Bob Martin cat food

Oh dear, not a hit! Molly will usually do ANYTHING for red meat/game food, with beef being her all time number 1 favourite. However, I just put the beef Bob Martin food down (thought it looked a bit rubbish) and she turned her nose up at it! Unheard of. So I got rid, and put their normal Aldi beef d...

Bob Martin cat food

Hi all! I know generally speaking Bob Martin products have a pretty awful reputation.... But is that just for the flea/worm products? My husband brought home a box of Bob Martin wet food in gravy today. Our cats both hate fish or poultry wet food, and it's really hard to find boxes without either of...
