Re: Help! Feeding grain free wet food

Hey there and welcome to CC One of my cats Harry has a suspected grain intolerance so by default all my cats are fed grain free. I've tried various of the expensive wet foods and none of my cats would eat them so after lots of trial and error my lot are now on a combination of Dry food Arden Grange ...

Re: Cat litter

I'm not all that keen on the silica litter. I've tried it in the past and besides the fact that the silica absorbs the urine and becomes a delightful shade of yellow, it's actually quite a hard litter for tender paws. Put some on the floor and stand on it barefoot - not very pleasant ;)

Re: Vibes for Lucy please

makes sense keeping her out the bedroom and I'm sure she'll be happy with whatever more space she can have. But when she has access to the whole house, is there anyway you could restrict access to under the bed so she can't get under?

Re: Vibes for Lucy please

Gosh the next week will feel like the longest week ever; but not much longer now. Glad all went well though and that the vet thinks she's doing alright. Wondering if you give her some cooked or raw chicken or other meat to eat whether that would build up bulk a bit? fusses from me as well and good l...

Re: Cat litter

Lilith; the Worlds Best I think may be one of the best litters to buy, but as you say - it's expensive. I've tried various and always end up back with Cats Best in the green bag. re the scoop; this is my favourite one: http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_litter_litter_boxes/deo_accessoires/litter...

Re: Vibes for Lucy please

Depending on how long this needs to be for, could you get some plywood and block the gaps between the railings and the stairs & raise it a bit so she can't jump over? Won't look pretty but if it's for a short term only and gives her more space then maybe worth trying? If you use clamps to attach...

Re: Vibes for Lucy please

Is she looking for run of the house or do you think she would be happy(happier) if she were confined upstairs?

Re: Vibes for Lucy please

Gosh, that must have been a bit of a worry for you - eek I know she should be losing weight so treats may not be the right thing to do, but if she likes dreamies what about giving her 4 twice a day, one in each corner of the room, that way she has to walk from one to the other to get to them? Or Thr...

Re: Cat litter

I go with clumping because it's just so much easier. Would love to use clay litter as I do think it clumps best, but because 4 of my 6 are long / semi long haired I cannot. Ava esp has very long hair on her trousers and when she squats low to pee it stuck to her fur and then it would - as MarySkater...

Re: Vibes for Lucy please

fingers crossed the putty stuff keeps doing the trick... if not; webbox sticks are good. Although I do find that store own brand tend to be softer and more malleable that the webbox brand. So that may be worth trying if she goes off the putty. Continues vibes to you both - it'll seem like a long wee...

Re: Casper is shedding a ton this year, I need better brushes

Agree with Ruth, those combs are brilliant. I have one of the double sided ones and same as Ruth hardly ever use the narrow side as it just seems to get caught up in the cat hair all the time (all long haired). Another one I have is very similar to the single sided one, but the teeth rotate which li...

Re: Providing for your cats in your Will?

Similar position here and so far the best solution that I've come up with is to leave everything to a friend who I implicitly trust with the welfare of my cats. Said person could choose to either move in or sell up to buy somewhere more suitable for him/her, as long as the cats are well cared for fo...

Re: Raw food - recipes please!

Depending on what you feed it may require additional minerals and vitamins. I'm definitely no expert so please do make sure you do lots of research before switching your cat over. I think the moment you cook the food (ie if you wanted to can / preserve it) it loses all the goodness so you'd have to ...

Re: Blackie is not himself ....

They are odd creatures sometimes aren't they - and yes some definitely more than others. I'm lucky with my gang; of the six five are quite laid back and generally very same same - Monty however is the one that, whilst always fine with me thankfully, will from one day to the next be fine and then not...
