Re: Blindness

My family had a cat who developed 2 detached retinas. She managed ok, although it was obviously traumatic for her. I also met a dog at a similar time who had suffered the same, and he seemed ok - going for walks, running around, sniffing etc.

Mine are scared of bubbles! They love laser pens, though. You can get laser machines that do it themselves in random patterns so you don't have to stand there.

Lol. If you do a search for 'valerian cats' you get many hits. It has a similar effect to catnip, and smells like carrot a bit.

Hostas

When I go back this morning I noticed Tango chewing on a stringy leaf. I looked them up and they are meant to be toxic, possibly causing 'depression, vomiting and diarrhoea', but other websites said they were worse. She seems ok, has been checked by the vets, who told me to watch her for 24 hours fo...

Re: Anyone tried PAH catnip bubbles?

My cats (and my neighbours' cats) love catnip, but only the actual plant. It's quite easy to grow and is a hardy perennial. I have it all around the garden, along with valerian (the root of which they love too).

One of my cats has some Siamese in her (my avatar). She has that Siamese meow, blue eyes, small head and rides around on my shoulder. Your cat is cute, see what he develops into.

Are you giving them the same attention they received previously, or is it all baby baby?

I've used Loc8tor Plus, which has a fairly good range (when not obscured by houses). the only GPS one I'm aware of is Loc8tor GPS.

Re: Cat litter box ideas.

My cat trays (bog standard litter) are in the corner of the dining room, hidden by the door to the kitchen(when open). My sister put hers in the cupboard under the stairs, with a cut out in the door for access, so the trays are out of site, which I thought was a good idea.

Mine love playing with laser pointers. I usually give them something physical to play with after, when we adjourn from the kitchen/bathroom area to the living room, where their tunnels and boxes and feather dusters are.

Loc8tor is good. I sellotape to collars so they don't dangle. I use Loc8tor Plus, which is a bit more expensive, but has a wider range.

I'm hoovering it up after I finish. The carpet in the landing is a 1960s brown, swirly affair, which has already got a chunk missing, so not too bothered about messing it up!

Ia fabric conditioner toxic?

I'm getting different messages from different websites. I'm using some diluted fabric conditioner to paste on walls to assist in removing wallpaper. Some will be stuck to slivers of wallpaper that fall onto the floor (onto a carpet which is also going, so I'm not being particularly careful about mes...

Re: Indoor cat needing outdoors: which option is best??

I prefer to let cats out when I can. For when I'm not there, or when it's dark I let them go into the back garden which I cat-proofed inexpensively. http://www.photobucket.com/catgarden" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; shows a few early pics after I first did it a few years a...

Re: My baby has cancer and I'm a bit lost...

Hi

I know a human squamous cell carcinoma doesn't have much of a risk of spreading (although there is some). After looking up the cat one they say it can spread quickly, so really the tumour should be removed.

Re: Constant scratching on wardrobe door

Kitty (pictured) does the same. It is probably only about twice a week, but I'm not sure why. If I open the door and let her sniff inside sometimes this stops it, sometimes not.

Maybe we all have invisible bogeyman in our wardrobes? :D
