Re: Moving house

Is your garden inclosed or do you need to share it? If so I would say you should be very careful because the neighbours may not enjoy a cats company. I would think about buying a cat net to spread across the "roof" of the garden so George can go out but, honestly, if he's shown no real int...

Re: Looking to rehome my old lady - Nottingham

I will talk to my uncle who lives in the Sherwood area. He's currently under a lot of stress with my grandma at the moment and her severe dementia but he may consider taking your cat in because he's taken in older and disabled cats and dogs before.

I'll let you know what he says.

Re: Co-op now stocking wider range of cat food

Bear in mind Co-op depends on the size and popularity of its stores to get these things. If your local Co-op doesn't have these foods then please write a letter/email to your regional co-op and ask for your store to get these products for you. Don't ask in-store, the people there have no control ove...

She's not the nicest person. I could tell you some stories...

But she's trying to reach out to me now. I guess she realises how much damage she's caused over the years.

Still, she raised Fritz.

Re: My cat scratching and meowing at night

I would cater three options, the third being a "only if you think it's something you can deal with" scenario. The first being my personal preference: First option Let your cat into your bedroom. I know it sounds like a pain to have him in the bed but believe me you'll soon get used to it. ...

Cat stories

Catslave16 brought up an emotional story for me. I thought perhaps that I would share it and others would enjoy the space to share their own stories. Whether they be good, bad, heartfelt or just depressing. I started this story of Catslave16's thread and then felt it wasn't appropriate. Aww man your...

Re: leaving cat while on vacation

Believe me, I feel just as guilty when we go away too. But I think it worries us more than them most of the time. Our Sofi is going to be left this August with our good friend Camila (who is rooming in our flat temporarily) when we fly to the US to see my soon-to-be step parents. Although Sofi loves...

Re: Feral cat - give her a home?

From someone who has friends and colleagues in Morocco, I congratulate you on being able to get this kitty out of her slum. The cities are full of cats like this little one because no one bothers to neuter in Morocco. They're still so very conservative and worried about the letter "I" rath...

Re: Sofi is scratching her fur out.

Well she's stopped scratching but there is a noticeable bald patch around her head and on her stomach like before. Thankfully she hasn't created any wounds for herself. Looking back over my diary notes the only thing that matches up is the weather. So I'm pinning it down to that. Unfortunately, we d...

Re: Advice needed on a rehoming.

Tbh I'm kinda relieved. Even though I wanted Lola to live with us I had a horrible feeling in my gut that it wouldn't work out. Sofi is so protective of her space all the time and even objects to the cat one floor down from us because she can see him strolling through the community patio through the...

Re: Advice needed on a rehoming.

I forgot to update this. Sorry guys. So the long and short of it: Nothing happened. Lola found a new home with my friend Giacomo (pronounced Jackamo) and we moved all of Lola's stuff into his place. She seems to have settled in quite well, although she keeps laying on his feet and then bites them wh...

I would recommend using this area of the site http://www.catchat.org/adoption/index.html to find a good shelter for the little ones. I'm sorry I don't really know your area otherwise I'd point out the shelters for you. It's great that you've taken on the mama and neutered her also. Very forward thin...

Hey guys, Well... there's only one reason for reactivating this thread. The Sofi scratching has started again. This time I have a few culprits. As opposed to last time where I had almost nothing to go on. I'll make a short list for you guys just to give you the gist of the changes I've noticed. As a...

Re: Aggression

When cats are neutered their normal smell is eradicated so I understand that it's scary for both of them. It's like looking at a best friend with a different face! Some cat may not recognise each other at all even if they've been friends for years. Here's 2 tips I've found over the years: Get a Feli...

Re: Advice needed on a rehoming.

Hey guys, We decided to try a slow technique to trial both cats and I put Lola's carrier and 2 of her stuffed toys around the living room. The result: utter pandemonium! Sofi went berserk over the new scent and hid behind my sock drawer and refused to come out. That was around 8-9 hours ago. She sti...

Re: Cats not eating wet food

Hey there. I wouldn't worry too much about your cats habits unless you're buying in bulk. Cats can get very picky and will turn their nose up at anything even if it's sometimes their favourite dish. If you have the time or money perhaps a little taste test would come in handy. Buy some of the popula...

Re: Our diabetic cat is licking her litter.

It's possible that your cat has anaemia. When cats have a low blood count they will start to crave odd things( It's called pica syndrome. Cats can get it at any time but it's normally down to some kind of chemical imbalance). Litter is a typical one because it contains salt. If she's also licking yo...

Thankyou everyone for the wonderful support and advice, particularly Joe_danger :) My boyfriend isn't so set on the idea as he feels more harm than good would come to both cats if we tried to house them together. Re: jealous cat

Do you tell him off when he snarls at the kittens or do you let it slide? I do wonder if it is a power issue in the household. He needs to look strong to you so you won't think of him as unfavourable or weak. Or as you say it could be attention. Siamese can be very stubborn in their ways but they're...
