Re: Territorial cat - spraying at front door

Great advice Grace and I hope it works for KittyWitty. I know why Purdy (our Top Cat) sprays, I just don't know how to stop her! Tried EVERYTHING, and I can understand Spraying near doors and windows but the microwave? What's that ever done to her? The bane of our lives, Nasty Cat, sweeps by n...

Like Val, I have photo's of 'lost' pets, cats and dogs. Your emotions are too raw at the moment. But, in time, a photo of them makes you smile and remember the good times you had with them, and how lucky you both were to have each other.
Best wishes

Re: Advice needed urgently please my cat may be PTS!! :( :(

My heart goes out to you. I can remember the awful sick feeling I got when my husband called me to say Bobby was FIV - this was on top of his infected leg. (I was doing the weekly shop at the time - trying to hold it together in Asda!) We had little choice but to amputate. Because of his condition t...

I asked about surgical glue when Bob's stitches pulled. But they said if there was any risk of infection sealing the wound would make matters worse.
I really hope it doesn't come to that and that she is on the mend very soon - she is a sweetie

Re: ANY TIPS ON TRAPPING A FERAL

Ask your vet if they have a different/larger trap. Our vet has one that is quite long and if you put food right down the end - it would have to be a very long cat to stretch that far, i.e. take the food and still keep his back legs out of the trap! It has worked well for us when we have used it. Goo...

My dear Mairi, I am so sad to hear of your loss. I do know how you feel and what you are going through right now. We have all been there. KittyWitty is right. I would vary the diet and if she is looking for food she is probably still hungry. Only a few cats carry on eating when they are full (unlike us humans!)

Re: Post-spay complications. Please help :(

Poor baby! We have had a similar problem with Bobby. Long story short - he was born with nerve damage to his front left leg, advised by our local (farm) vet to have it removed. As he used it - to a fashion - and it did not bother him we said no. At 1 year the joint became infected through a tiny wou...

Re: feline asthma

My older cats, Willow (11) and Tom (about 12) can both be quite noisy when breathing. They both snore when asleep. Otherwise they are in perfect health. Perhaps it is age related? As for putting a cat in a basket, I had trouble with Bob until my vet reversed him in - wow, what a difference. Easy whe...

Re: Why does my cat show this aggressive behaviour?

Yep, that's all good advice! Sometimes when our cats have had a little spat (usually over the 'best seat') the loser will hiss at another cat or even take a half-hearted whack at us. We live in a very rural area and the road is fairly quiet. So our tribe get the run of our garden. But we do h...

Well we are back! I picked up Bobby this morning - minus his bandage!!! I spoke to one of the senior vets. He seems quite enlightened about FIV. He says he is happy that Bobby is finally on the mend. Little man meowed all the way home, enjoyed a big snuggle with me and Dave, ate most of a tin of App...

Re: Strange behaviour of bereaved cat.

First of all welcome to CC! It does sound as though the little girl is missing her sister. I'm not sure about the aversion to being on the floor. I don't understand her thinking there. But the washing may be a distraction for her. You say she likes cat nip. Perhaps you could use that as encouragemen...

Re: Bad behaviour!! Should I split my two cats up?!

Hi Kirsty I'm back! You ask if I have any problems with my cats. Well they all have their own distinct characters and some are certainly more bossy than others. There can be squabbles when one pinches another's favourite spot on the sofa. But on the whole it is relatively peaceful. Grace can be a bi...

If we can have a Lurcher and a rabbit living happily together, you should have no problem. Introduce them slowly with full supervision, they should be fine.

Re: Bad behaviour!! Should I split my two cats up?!

Couple of questions - have they been neutered and why were you told they must be re-homed together? Did they come from the same home or is it that someone has had problems with one in the past and was trying a BOGOF to get rid of the problem? It is hardly surprising that Tiggy is timid if Leo keeps ...

Oh boy, what a subject! First of all, don't panic. It may just be the warm weather, he could just be a picky puss. Before his op. Bobby ate only dry food (Iams was his favourite) with plenty of water. Since his op. he won't touch any biscuit and will only eat wet food and very little water. All the ...
