Re: 9 months on
I really don't know if it's possible to come to terms with losing a loved cat-friend. From my current vantage point I don't think I will ever fully "get over it". Our cats are so, so special to all of us and when something terrible happens to them it really is unbearable. I try to concentr...

Re: Our Boy
So so sorry to read your post. We are going through the same ordeal after our lovely 15 month old Lucy was killed in an RTA on Sept 19th. I am overwhelmed with sadness and when I read of the same thing happening to other lovely cats it just breaks my heart. I just wish something could be done to sto...

Re: Alice
Its so very hard to lose a much loved cat, especially when it is sudden. I didnt realise just how attached I was to our little cat until she was no longer there. The sadness is overwhelming. You are right that knowing there are other caring people out there who have gone through these experiences do...

Re: How do we cope?
Hi Hannah. For me at the moment it's the suddenness and shock of knowing that our little friend will no longer be around. One minute there she was her usual lovely self, the next minute our neighbours ring the doorbell with grim news. I guess with time the shock element will subside, but I am left w...

Re: Struggling with grief
Very sorry to hear of your losses, compounded by the sudden unexpected nature of the younger one. We are trying to come to terms with losing one of our two lovely cats. I cant imagine what it's like to lose two much loved cats in quick succession. Best wishes.

Re: Feeling broken
Very, very sorry to hear of your loss. I truly think the grieving for a loved pet can be as strong as for a human. People who say that cats only come to humans for food are very wrong. They certainly have their own personalities and feelings and a lot of non-verbal communication is possible. I hope ...

Very, very sorry to read about Kara. Reading all the messages just makes me so angry at all the careless, inconsiderate, selfish drivers out there.

Thinking of you at this time Thanks. We're still going through a lot of guilt thoughts - what if this, what if that, if only ... but the reality is that nothing will bring beautiful Lucy back. It's going to take a long while to come to terms with her loss and I know that many of you have been throu...

It breaks my heart reading all these horrendous RTA reports. We've just had the same thing happen to our lovely one year old Lucy. I just wish you all the best and hope you are coping.

Re: Another RTA loss.
the only thing which might help is to think about what might prevent such a tragedy in the future, so you don't have to go through this again Thanks. It does help to know that there are caring people out there. Your comment about preventing it happening again is a really important one. We got Lucy ...

Another RTA loss.
Hi, Just joined the forum. Our lovely 15 month old Lucy was killed last Saturday morning. Such a lovely little friend. We think she was sitting under a parked car that moved off. We're really not coping very well with this. I guess time will help. I ve been reading the posts from others that have be...
