Re: Question about Semintra for CRD

Let's hope the tests will help with her treatment. Eating of litter is worrying. Apparently it can be a sign of several ailments; anaemia, kidney disease, mineral deficiency. Many on here will know far more than I do. The important thing is that she's booked in with your vet. Maybe give them a ring ...

Re: Glucosamine?

Fluffy has StridePlus for cats. It's a liquid that can be mixed in with her food. Seems to help her. I also have steps for her to get onto her favourite chair and several other homemade contraptions for her to get onto the bed and the sofa. As well as helping her climb up they also help her avoid ju...

Re: Question about Semintra for CRD

Marla, sorry to hear about Flo's health problems. Fluffy has had CKD for three years. As Mark says she is now on Semintra. Prior to that she was on fortekor and amlopidine. My vet contacted me to suggest the switch over to Semintra as he said it was supposed to be better than fortekor and the side e...

Re: Tommy update - advice please!

Sorry to hear about Tommy's recent diagnosis. Fluffy was diagnosed with CKD 3yrs ago. That was when I joined CC to get some much valued advice. Mark has had several cats with the condition so his input was a great help. Sounds like Tommy has lost a lot of weight so it's vital that he eats whether it...

Anna that's fantastic news!!! I'm so pleased for you. The lovely Lily really is putting up a fight isn't she. What a determined little girl she is. She must be feeling good to eat so much and to finish her bowl each time! Hopefully the virus is out of her system now which is why she feels more like ...

Very pleased that he's gained 100g :D Hope the Semintra continues to help him. It could go some way to preventing kidney disease as long as possible. Sounds to me like Dom is enjoying the friendship too. He seems to have respect for Laz. Possibly realising that he is older and isn't in good health. ...

Re: Is anyone else's cat on BP tablets other than Amlopidine

Mark that's great news about Laz. The dosage is obviously making all the difference. Are you still giving him Semintra as well? Last time Fluffy went for her BP it was up again to 150. But even I could feel her little heart pounding as I held her so I'm not surprised at the reading. I checked with t...

Re: Food-fussy feral

I agree with Val that it's worth trying her with something else to find out whether she really has gone off food. It could be that she's decided she prefers meat now. Or, dare I say it, she could have a tooth problem :( Hopefully not.

Anna I'm not sure whether these are what Mark is referring to but I get them for Fluffy. This particular brand is recommended by felinecrf.org http://www.amazon.co.uk/Superior-Source-Methylcobalamin-1000mcg-Dissolve/dp/B003VR6Y18/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_2" onclick="window.open(this.href);retu...
