Re: Raw food or ready made ?
re point 2 I was mistaken, he has been making 'squitty noises' in the litter tray yesterday and still seems to have some diarrhoea so I'm presuming he is 'going' outdoors, thus his reduced use of the litter tray. I have started him on 50/50 raw chicken (B.A.R.F) and Whiskas wet, mixed. He scoffs it ...

Raw food or ready made ?
I have written in previous postings about my indoor cat that had persistent diarrhoea, and that recently he has chosen to go outdoors (he was frightened of going outside until recently) also that he has been catching mice that he brought in the house. A few things have changed in the last couple of ...

Re: Cat stands in litter box but pees outside (!)
I have a similar problem with my cat, but he has persistent diarrhoea which sprays out on to the floor. I have tried a couple of options, both are equally successful Two Litter trays Get two litter trays (or a tray and a covered box with a low entrance) Place them end to end with litter in one and l...

Re: Advice for AWOL grumpy cat
As upsetting to you as it might be, you have to remember that cat’s will do what they want to do. You say she is semi feral so is familiar with being outside. Cat’s are really wild animals that choose to live with us. If you trap her the only way you could keep her indoors would probably be against ...

Re: Aggressive Male Cat
Does the cat attack the girlfriend when your son isn’t there?
I ask because I suspect the clue might be that your son doesn’t live there all the time. The cat sees him as an intruder and is doing his darnedest to repel him!

Many of you will know about Cole and Marmalade. https://www.youtube.com/c/ChrisPooleCrazyCatGuy/videos Cole developed cancer some months ago and was getting treatment and the video reports seemed to indicate he was doing alright. I have found out that Cole died on 10/10/21 This was on youtube https:...

This maybe no help but I did a quick internet search and UK fire services will only come out (for want of a better phrase) at their discretion. The RSPCA also are unlikely to come for at least 24 hours

Have you ever checked how long it takes to defrost ?
I tried that with a frozen pouch and it was defrosted in about an hour !

How often should I feed my cat ?
Websites on the internet suggest an adult cat should be fed twice a day. One site said this was to stop the food going stale, another said it's to prevent getting flies etc on it. Presumably they are thinking of uncovered bowls, they don't make allowances for microchip feeders. My cat is fed using m...

Re: Should I let him out ?
Hmmmmmm, ! It's starting to be a regular thing ! Twice more he has brought in field mice (that's three in total) One he had killed and another I fear he had mortally wounded but I got it off him and put it out. I'm pleased he has got his hunting instinct but I am irritated as well, all at the same t...

Re: Feral kitten Birmingham /walsall
I think you are doing everything right so far :) He is eating and drinking and using a litter tray but he is unsurprisingly terrified of this new situation. At that age he is not beyond socialising with humans but it may take a long time. Just keep on as you are and he will hopefully start to come o...

Why do they have vents with (supposed) odour filters ? The stink is going to come out of the opening where the cat goes in and out so what's the point ?
I seal the vents up with duct tape

Re: Should I let him out ?
He wanted to play with it instead of despatching it. I understand that's what they often do,it's like sport or a game to them.
It didn't occur to me that it might be pregnant, I just didn't want it crawling in somewhere and dying and then decomposing (YUKK!!!)

Re: Should I let him out ?
This was bound to happen I suppose! I was watching TV last night and he was worrying to go out so I opened the patio doors, a few minutes later he came rushing back in and dropped something small and dark brown. HE’D CAUGHT A FIELD MOUSE!!! He then chased it around the lounge with me in hot pursuit!...

Re: Should I let him out ?
I could do that but this door is full height, and nearly 175 cm (6ft) tall and I would have to replace the entire double glazed pane. I suspect that would be even more expensive than buying the insert panel. Also, as it is a sliding door, and a normal cat flap would protrude slightly, there woud alw...

Re: Should I let him out ?
Well, he has been going out, but not far, for about a week now in the (fairly secure) comunal gardens and he comes back when called (I live in sheltered housing) and I have rigged up a sort of cat flap for him. I have a sliding patio door, but I am not allowed to install a permanent cat flap, so its...

Should I let him out ?
I moved here 3 years ago from somewhere where it was unsafe to let my 2 cats out so when I lived there I kept them in. This area is much safer and I hoped they would go out but neither did, except shortly after I moved here and they both got extremely frightened as they just weren't used to going ou...

Re: Our Tiggee was just diagnosed with a serious upper respiratory infection
Tiggee loves to drink the juice from my tine of salmon I make every day for my lunch. It has salt in it so is this ok to give him if he will take it? I think you should stop that, or switch to giving him the juice from salmon in water without salt. Something like this from Walmart (Canada) https://...

Re: My fixed female is aggressive towards unfixed male.
Just a couole of ideas, I but may not be right. It might be that when he first came along your female cat 'adopted' him as if he were her own and now he's matured she's chasing him off, as momma cats do to their own offspring. I would allow the attacks to continue because all she is trying to do is ...

Re: my special needs cat needs behavioral adjusting
Just some thoughts............ How about putting his food in the raised feeder and holding it at the same time then over a period of time move your hand a little bit further away just bit by bit very gradually ? When, or if, he accepts that you might be able to move on to free feeding and he won't c...

Some cats just hate collars ! If it is for identity reasons, get the cat microchipped. If it's a flea collar throw it away and use spot-on treatments.

Female cats: When looking at a female cat's genital area, the space just under her tail, it will look like an upside down exclamation point (!) with the long slit of the vaginal area below the anus. The anus and vagina are typically only about half an inch apart. In kittens, the anus and vagina may ...

Should I get another cat ?
One of my cats died last December unexpectedly. My other cat has now become super affectionate and seeks attention a lot of the time. Even if he has been sleeping all night with me, when I wake up he is seeking attention like I have not been there at all. In general the amount of attention he is now...
