I agree I don't think that's bruising, just looks like pigmentation. I think you should call your vet and see what they say especially as her third eyelid is showing.

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!
I think you should take her back, because he's the expert and knows what he's looking for so for your own peace of mind I think it's worth it. My vets don't charge for the follow up appointment after an op, it's included in the operation price so I doubt he's after your money! Fusses to her ladyship...

Re: Inflammatory Bowel Disease & appropriate diagnosis proce
I know the symptoms of Lymphoma and IBD are very similar. I've been on this journey with one of my cats and as Desley says you would need to have a biopsy done (maybe an ultrasound or something similar too) and even then IBD is patchy so if they hit a normal batch of bowel the results will be inconc...

Re: Bailey has been shorn
Although it was a general anaesthetic one of my guys took a similar amount of time to calm down after an op, the vets always say "they'll be a bit zonked for 24-48 hours or so" but I've found the exact opposite to be true! Hector would not leave my side, he wouldn't sleep and would cry if ...

Re: Boris is going to the dentist
Noodley has her fangs and tiny front teeth but nothing else but you'd never know!! Their gums harden pretty quickly evidently, Noodley only eats wet food - she's not keen on dry so I don't bother but she can eat a whole thrive dried treat chunk with no problems!!! Tig also had his teeth removed (he ...

Re: Bailey has been shorn
Oh bless.
I'm guessing life feels very odd for her right now and she's probably feeling quite vulnerable without her fur so that is causing her to redirect that angst at the carpet, I would continue with the care you're giving her and hopefully she'll get used to her new look in a couple of days.

Re: Boris is going to the dentist
Noodley had most of her teeth removed last year and I started cutting down her Metacam too early with a similar reaction, she became quite withdrawn and quiet so I gave her another week on the vets advice and she was fine

Re: My cat has looks like she has dandruff
Could be something as simple as they're moulting, my guys get quite dandruffy at this time of year when they moult but probably worth a call to the vet to be safe.

Re: Itchy Ted - please advise!
Hector is on Pred and has been for about 4 years now, although not for his itchy skin (he has chronic rhinitis and IBD). He is on a 1mg daily dose and a recent blood test showed no issues, I believe cats tolerate steroids a lot better than dogs and humans. He used to get big itchy weeping sores and ...

You might be better off posting this in the Health & Behaviour section so more people see it. A lot of people avoid the rescue pages for fear of ending up with the waifs and strays!

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!
As others have said the vet wouldn't have suggested an op if he didn't think Fluffy was up to it, she'll feel heaps better once that tooth is out. It is nerve wracking but in my experience they're so much better afterwards. Good luck!

Yes she needs to see a vet, it could also be she's got a urinary infection.
