Re: Cystitis

One of my girls gets Cystitis on occasions (we think hers is stress related), I've found adding a small amount of warm water to each meal (she only eats wet food) has kept the problem at bay for a while now.

Re: Very nervous cat!!

I have four cats, one of which likes nothing more than pouncing on one of the others, consequently anytime he's near her there's lots of hissing and growling going on. As long as it doesn't escalate I leave them to it.

Tig & His Epilepsy Meds

For those that remember my thread on the old forum, Tig had his last dose of Epilepsy medication last night and for the first time in just over 2 years his food was free of medication this morning. My feeling is that he's going to do ok but it's always a worry. Please keep your paws crossed that he ...

Re: Lethargy after vaccination

Yes after vaccinations, one of mine in particular seems to be knocked for six after them. Very lethargic, sleeping lots and not wanting fusses. Give her 24-26 hours and she'll hopefully be back to normal.

Oh no :(

Your poor girl, I hope she's feeling a bit brighter today but she's probably going to ache like mad for a couple of days, thank goodness you found her.

Gentle fusses from me, hope Daz is holding up ok with his girl off colour xx

Re: Food Advice

Wow what an amazing job you've done with this beautiful chap, well done for taking him on :) Have you talked to your vet about other brands that are available that he might find more palatable? Most vets have agreements with pet food manufacturers so they'll always push those brands but there are pr...

I also agree, a couple of mine will come back inside to use the tray (I also have an outdoor litter tray) and it's a good gauge of health problems (upset tummies and cystitis to name just two).

Re: The wacky things we do for our cats...

If Tig doesn't like the particular brand of cat food on offer he'll turn his nose up at his bowl in the kitchen and go and sit on the coffee table, if I then put his food on the coffee table he'll eat it! If I get anything out of the fridge that's wrapped in Clingfilm Hector and Pip come running and...

Importance Of Safety Collars

I just thought it worth reiterating the importance of choosing a safety collar over a buckle collar. For only the second time since I rescued her Noodle didn't come in as usual last night, at this time of year her evening patrol only lasts 30 minutes then she's waiting at the back door to come in. L...

Have you tried Butchers Classic? It's cereal free so good for sensitive tummies, you can buy it in most supermarkets (6 cans of either meat or fish flavours) and it's cheap.

Re: New neighbours and possible problems

I was in a similar situation a few years ago when new neighbours moved in with two dogs. Although my girl is much younger she avoided and still avoids their garden, I don't think she'd risk it. I think you're right to be worried given your older lads health problems and do think you should chat with...

I know the feeling! Hector - Prednisalone, Ronaxan and Piriton everyday, Interferon every other day. Cream on sore nose and eye drops when needed. There's some good advice on here about how to introduce a new cat to your home: http://www.catchat.org/bonding.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Re: My rescue cats mysterious past

I know two of my four. Pip I've had since she was 6 weeks old and Tig was with a foster mum from birth until he was 7 months old. Hector and Noodle were both strays and around a year old. Both very friendly so had obviously had a home or human contact at some point in their lives but neither were ne...
