Re: cat feeding strategy

Walesgang wrote:It probably varies. I assume you landlady has a regime for her cat?
Yep, her regime is wet food once a day and the dry food out the rest of the time.

I don't think TC likes his dry food at all, he always meows for wet food and treats, and only has his dry food when nothing else is available.

Re: How to introduce my two year old indoor cat to a new pup

A former colleague of mine who is in his 60s and his wife decided to get a dog. They would show videos of the dog "playing" with their cat, everyone would be "awww, look at him playing", but I would be watching in horror thinking "poor cat" - you could tell the cat HATE...

cat feeding strategy

I was wondering, how do people feed their cats? Do they take their wet food out at certain times of the day, and then give treats etc at other times? Do they leave dry food out for them to come nibble at whenever they want? Is there some standard procedure that all cat owners follow, or does it vary...

Re: Cat Grooming course

Maybe you will just have to search online. I tried looking for you, there don't seem to be many in Leicestershire, there seem to be a few distance learning courses though, but I don't know how that will work out. There does seem to be a mobile pet groomer, but the courses do seem rather expensive. h...

Re: Cat "punished" for eating pizza...

I hate chavs. Oh, you'd hate to live where I live. I was working late in London most nights earlier this year, and on a Friday night, coming home was just a nightmare - the walk from the station to my home is about 4 minutes, but you were almost always certain to bump into some drunken chav who wan...

Re: Cat "punished" for eating pizza...

My only experience of the RSPCA was a great one. I was around 18 or so, and my brother and I were looking outside the window when we saw a cat grab a pigeon and run into our flats, we ran outside into the corridor and managed to make the cat let go off the pigeon, it was bleeding and couldn't fly bu...

Re: Cat "punished" for eating pizza...

I would put her up to her knees in water, but head down! - vile chav scum! Sadly it seems to be the chavs who have the most pets and kids. I have a colleague at work who is a really nice woman, she once told me she would have loved to have been a mother more than anything else, sadly for her, it wa...

Cat "punished" for eating pizza...

Hmmm, so a woman puts her cat in a bath with water up to it's knees as punishment for eating her pizza, and the RSPCA don't take it away? http://metro.co.uk/2014/11/22/outrage-after-woman-locks-cat-in-cage-and-puts-it-in-the-bath-because-it-ate-her-pizza-4958294/" onclick="window.open(this...

There is no need to apologise for waffling - you are hurt, and you need to share your hurt.

Please feel free to continue writing how you feel on this forum, there are some lovely people here who have suffered pain too, and I am sure they'll be happy to give you a shoulder.

I also love foxes - maybe I read too much Roald Dahl when I was a kid! When I lived with my parents in London, the builders were knocking down a building behind, and a fox appeared, and a cat saw it, and there was a stand-off. They were both keeping their distance, and I was worried the cat might di...

Re: Feeding tuna?

Ah, thanks - well, I think I might just lock him in his room for 15 minutes or so whilst I have my tuna, and then save a little bit for him and when I am finished, open the door and let him have it - that should keep him happy and also not damage his health!

Oh, I will miss him terribly. I had never lived in a house with a cat before, well, at least not properly. Hello, I thought I would post some pictures of my landlady's cat - he is 7 years old. He is a very nervous cat, but at the same time he also likes to be around humans. Oh, I did actually notice him licking a lot more "frantically" yesterday - I could actually hear him from a distance! Maybe he got some furballs because of that?

I don't think my landlady has ever brushed him - he isn't a very touchy-feely cat at all - not sure how he'd respond to a brush!

Cat making noise...

Hello, Today, on three occasions, I have heard TC make a noise. He made one right now. I don't know where it comes from, I think from his mouth. I have NEVER heard him make this type of noise before. It's actually difficult to describe the noise, maybe a cat burp? Is there anything to worry about? H...

Re: Feeding tuna?

That is right, he gets his balanced diet from my landlady and from treats, I just find saying no to him as it is a very small flat and even if I lock him in a room and then let him out after I have eaten, he knows I had it and meows away wanting some. So I either don't have it, or when I do, I have ...

Feeding tuna?

Hello, I read that "human tuna" shouldn't be fed to a cat other than the odd occasional. My issue is this, I have tuna about twice a week, and each time I have it, TC comes running and he wants some. So I tend to give half to him and have half myself - is this too much? Should I just give ...
