Re: Dodgy tummy

Anna and Jackie, thank you for the probiotic suggestion. It would be very kind if you could send me a sample, Jackie. Thank you. It's definitely worth a try. Have you got our new address? X Edgar's stools are still soft and I noticed Lou Lou's weren't as formed this morning. Sigh. I wonder if they'v...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Morning all, SO glad to hear that the boys have done their business too. What a worry it all is. I admit to peering very closely at my little family's offerings! Only Lou Lou is a little bit fluffy so that doesn't seem to contribute to any problems and fortunately she loves bring combed out. I was s...

Re: Dodgy tummy

Thank you ladies. Edgar has just eaten a tin of Encore chicken so it was clearly Mummy's cooking that wasn't up to scratch! I'm off out now to get coley fillets and the Hills Helen suggested now. Yes, Kay, he had a ten day course of Anitrobe so it may have set something off. If his poo is still soft...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Glad to hear that Fluff is on the mend and used her tray nicely. Yes, sometimes my girl refuses lick e lix plus meds on its own but will accept if mixed with pate! Diva just doesn't cover it. Got to love them, don't we! We have fibre response too so feel free to email me your address and I'll send y...

Re: It's Baby Bird Season again...

Good advice Anna. At the moment only Pepsi is going into our new garden but as old as she is I was still surprised to see a great **** go into the caged feeder whilst she was out though he had been alarming loudly to let everyone else know she was there. Edgar will be a keen hunter I feel so every p...

Dodgy tummy

Hello My ex stray boy Edgar had a big dental last week and has been doing very well. However he had diarrhoea at the weekend and the on call vet advised over the phone to stop his Metacam and, as I expected, feed him only chicken or white fish till his poo was back to normal. Now on Tuesday his poo ...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

How's the little princess this morning, Carol? Pepsi and I were thinking about her in the garden this morning. That was before madam was hand fed a mixture of Lick e lix with supplements and Gourmet ocean fish pâté. Remember to have some kitchen towel with you when you feed your girl! Hope dear Fluf...

Re: Lethargy after vaccination

Yes, definitely. When Lou Lou had her flea treatment the time before last she was so out of sorts I rang the vet. They said see how she was the next day but it was typical of some cats to react like this. The next day she was fine. So just see how she is tomorrow, but I think you'll find her back to...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Oh, Carol, I am so pleased. The darling little girl! I'm sure the lactulose will help - it certainly helps another rather superior elderly lady in that department. And we know where Fluffy got the feeding by hand idea from!! What a relief. We do think the worst, of course. When Lou Lou had cystitis ...

Hi

We're south west London and we use Animal Aunts. Our auntie is Sylvi but they have ladies all
over. Have a look at their website.

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Oh, Carol, I am sorry I have missed out on posts this weekend, and that your precious little girl is not herself. Pepsi is inclined to constipation - the record was nearly 5 days without a poo after which she now has a little spoonful of lactulose in her lick e lix (along with her other meds/supplem...

Re: Operation night time lockdown is a failure

I know it seems as if we're all having a go at you but it's because we've learned from experience and that includes the experience loving our furbabes beyond words can say. We adopted a 16 year old girl who desperately needed a loving home and it was the best thing we did for us and for her. Since t...

Re: Cats on medication

I thought I couldn't possibly be alone! Dear little Fluffy - all that for one sweet girl. Needless to say, although mine are not on full prescription diets yet, they don't/WON'T eat the same thing at the same time and Lou Lou is such a slower eater than Edgar tends to butt in before she's finished s...

Re: Roughly how much do you think it costs to 'keep' a cat .

Easily that, I'm sure. It's the unplanned vet visits that tip the balance. Our boy we took on in January needed an urgent dental and that was £750 this weekend. the next day Lou Lou was straight down to the vet with cystitis. The teeth issues were a pre-existing condition and it's not worth claiming...

Re: Probably sounds really silly but.........

Good idea, Shelly. As reluctant as I am to leave our babies we have to do so to see my parents and as much as OH loves them if I declared a moritorium on all holidays it wouldn't be a popular option! I'd rather use the sitter than the cat hotel and also you can call on the sitter for occasions like ...

Re: Probably sounds really silly but.........

Hi Shelly Animal Aunts is the company we've just started using after the issue I had at NY when our regular lady suddenly cut down on contact and told me not to bring Edgar into the family! At half term a lovely lady called Sylvi came from Animal Aunts. She lives locally but stayed overnight with ou...

Re: Probably sounds really silly but.........

Can you ask one of Dora's Aunties to sit with her? Even if it was for one of the days, the Friday perhaps? I know how you feel. What about a professional cat sitter? Would Dora really hate that? X
