Vet UK is the only place I've seen do individual boxes rather than 4 boxes, it isn't as cheap but I sometimes do it to give Buster a flavour change

Happy Birthday Buster

I've had Buster for 5 years today, I always thought Molly would outlive him, especially when he went through his stage of collecting illnesses!! It's nearly 4 years since his kidney started dying, and it shows that operating on him was the right thing to do!! He is a very happy boy now he is an only...

Silly question, but is the kitten climbing on and off the bed by herself or are you putting her on the bed?

Are you using the same kind of litter? How often do you clean the tray?

Re: Foster Kitty Questions?

Honestly, if you are going to mix foster cats with your own, you really should isolate fosters for at least two weeks, especially ones with that kind of background as things like cat flu can take up to two weeks to show If she's only recently spayed and was pregnant, her hormones won't have settled ...

I'm glad that someone can help temporarily, and that the experience has prompted you to donate and volunteer - if more people could do that, rescues would be in a better situation.

Re: Never knew it was so bad!

I've been doing rescue work for 11 years now (in the North West) and it is a lot worse than it was when I started. I think part of that is the financial situation - I read an article recently that people are £500 worse off a year than in 2008, part of it is the housing market - so many people can't ...

Re: Need a good vet/vet hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland & Lon

I'm very surprised you were able to bring an unneutered cat into the country. Male cats have a very light anaesthetic and are normally done in 10 minutes. The vet will listen to their heart before the anaesthetic to ensure they can cope with the anaesthetic. Vets do offer pre anaesthetic bloods befo...

If you are feeding non commercial food, you will need a calcium supplement, there are some available if you search for raw food, bit puzzled by the 30% veg/porridge /dairy, doesn't sound like what they would eat in the wild.

And if the disability was that bad, there would be carers or family or a good neighbour. It will show whether she is doing it because she has an infection. There are products available to break down enzymes, there is a thread here with names of products

Have you ever had a urine sample checked when she is weeing in the corner? Bleach breaks down into ammonia which makes them more likely to use the spot, you need something that breaks down the enzymes

Re: help 1 year old adopted cat

Personally I would book her in with a different vet, and physically take her. I've been able to tell a cat was pregnant at around 4 weeks and I don't have that much experience, so bearing in mind that you can see possible signs, I can't see how a vet can't and I've never heard a vet say they can onl...

I think you need to take her to the vet to be checked, and if she isn't, get her neutered asap - there are health reasons why indoor only cats need to be neutered.

Blimey, some of yours make Buster look rather tame!! He hasn't done it that much since becoming an only cat, it's normally in protest for not being able to go out these days, or, as in the case last week, because he had a UTI. When I first moved in, two of the neighbours had female cats who would ha...

Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

Unless I'm using clumping litter, I empty and wash the tray every other day, with clumping I do it weekly so I don't think there is a problem with your cat. If by sawdust type you mean wood based, I'm impressed you can get two weeks, I find it full of sawdust after a couple of days.

Buster has severe mouth ulcers (possible calici carrier ), at one point this year we couldn't open his mouth fully. The vet suggested Logic Gel and they are miles better, it has a nozzle to get directly onto the gum. He is the second cat with little or no teeth that still suffer with mouth ulcers, s...

Please don't let her out, she may be fussing to go out because she is in season and trying to find a mate, and it is best to keep a new cat in for at least a month and preferably at least 6 for nervous cats

Re: Anyone have a cat on long-term steroids?

Molly was on steroids for the last 4 years of her life, we did 6 monthly bloods and they were always fine. The trick with steroids is to find the lowest dose that keeps symptoms at bbay.if the vet suspects IBD, regular B 12 injections can help
