Re: Is this a good food?

My cat will eat the Sheba pouches now and then - she can be fussy and seems to like the beef or turkey but not the chicken. I have tried her with the Sheba trays and again its hit or miss whether she will eat them. They have a very pungent smell compared to other cat food. Tesco have started to do a...

Re: Milk?

My cat loves the squirty cream made by Anchor - there is a low fat version and she gets a few squirts every now and then. If she is upstairs and I take the can from the fridge and give it a shake she comes running and cries until she gets it.

Re: Cat licking lips, possible IBD?

My cat was recently diagnosed with IBS after an abdominal scan revealed an enlarged stomach lining. She has always been sick on and off mostly bile and I never thought anything of it until the diagnosis - she stopped eating her wet food a few months ago and was drinking more water thats when I becam...

Re: Cat Has UTI

Booktigger - The vet did not want to give her a long lasting steroid in case she did not take to it so it was decided that I would inject her every 2 days to see how she reacted to the steroids in her system. I have to take her to the vet tonight and he will decide if a longer lasting injection is m...

Re: Cat Has UTI

Thanks Lilith - she seemed fine that afternoon when I left her and when I got home at 19.00 is when I discovered the sick. I did notice she had peed more that morning but with the cold weather and her not going out I assumed it was just normal behaviour. I was worried in case her triaditis had retur...

Cat Has UTI

I have been treating my female 13yo cat for IBS - she is getting a steroid injection every 2 days. Last night when I got home she didn't greet me at the door like she always does and I immediately went upstairs were she was sitting in the hall. I noticed she had been sick on 3 occasions in the bedro...

Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Thanks Mayday - had Jet at the vet today and he give her a small steriod dose injection - I have to inject her every other day for the next 2 weeks. He is still concerned that it may be IBS she has and the increased enzyme in her blood test concerning the liver - he did mention again about the Triad...

Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Thanks Lilith - was reading up on steriods for cats and it must be do do with the IBS treatment for Jet - she did have Triaditis a few years back - an inflamation of her internal organs and spent a few days on a drip but she recovered well. The vet today did mention about other internal organs being...

Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Got a disturbing phone call from the vet earlier - the one who initially examined Jet and took blood - not the one who did the scan. He is still of the opinion that the scan is showing the beginings of a tumour on the liver with the increased liver enzymes in the blood test and probably IBS as her s...

Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Thanks for the support - yes I will defo get her to the vet and get whatever teeth removed - she has had 4 teeth removed before and the symptons at first led me to believe it may be her teeth but the increased water consumption got me worried in case it was something more serious. I think the vet wa...

Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Jet had her abdominal scan done and the results are all good - no signs of anything suspicious in her liver/kidneys/spleen or stomach. The vet showed me the scan results - the scan did show a small part of her liver is not as smooth as the rest of her liver which probably accounted for the increased...

Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Ditto Booktigger's post ... if the vet was overly concerned wouldn't he organise for scan earlier? Just a thought & sending Jet +Ve vibes. The blood test showed a slight increase in liver levels - he is concerned that I just go ahead and remove teeth when the liver is the issue. He did chat abo...

Got a phone call from the Vet concerning Jets blood test - good news and bad. Good News - her thyroid is fine / Bad News he is concerned about her liver. Re: Cat Drinking More Water

Thanks for the advice and concern - she has had 4 teeth extracted in the past. I am concerned about the water drinking but maybe as she is eating biscuits and ham/beef with ...

Thanks Lilith - I will get an appointment at the vet. She seems in good form - going outside etc but there is just something that I know is not right with her so another visit to the vet is defo called for - just feel so sorry for her when they shave under the neck to get blood.

Cat Drinking More Water

My 13 yo has started to drink more water than what she normally does. She is not eating her wet food - she will either sniff it and walk away or eat a few mouthfuls - she still cries looking fed. I have tried so many different varieties and its the same. She will eat her biscuits and I have started ...

I contacted my vet and Jet was prescribed Effipro Cat - she explained as she had not examined my cat it was a generic/neutral one to give. Not sure myself which flea treatment to get for the cat going forward. The above has been effective in killing the fleas and online I can get 4 pipettes for unde...

I spent 3 hours cleaning the house last night and then tackled the cat with the dreaded flea comb - managed to get another 10 -15 fleas. Cat Has Fleas

My 13 yo cat has been scratching her chin and ears for 10 days or so and on Saturday night it just dawned on me that she has fleas. Re: Feeding Issues

My cat is a domestic moggy - quite large and she would eat up to 3- 4 pouches per day. I also leave her biscuits to eat. Be aware if only feeding wet food this can lead to dental problems later in the cats life - mine had to get 4 teeth removed when she was 11 and she had gingivitis. The vet blamed ...

I tried my cat with Applaws and she will not eat it nor will she entertain the 'soups' that seem to be dominating the market. She does enjoy 'Hi Life' the tuna variety. But mostly she eats Wiskas and Gourmet Perle Jelly or gravy.

Hi my 12 yo cat turned sick overnight last year and was diagnosed with Triaditis an inflammation of her pancreas and other organs.
