And this sounds dreadfully supercilious in my opinion.I'm sorry, my dear cat lovers, but you can not always use the rule of "last in, first out"

Vicious Cat Fight
I heard ominous yowling in the yard about half hour ago. I knew it was Dave and a black cat who comes to visit. Dave was the one kicking up the row as they stared at each other. And by God he sounds dreadful and very scary. Anyway, I went over to them and tried to end the 'stand off' as it has worke...

Well, I'm Grace born in 1956. I used that as it was first thing I thought of. Not very original really. And I didn't have Dave then. My last baby, Oscar had died in 2012 and so I was un adopted at the time or I would have been Dave's Slave or something.

Lol. He has just eaten a rat, Bobbys Girl. I've posted about that on the 'Behaviour' forum. But yes, he does love his grub especially the more expensive ones. He won't touch The Co-Ops own any more. Anyway, he's the best therapy I could have and he is so well loved. I wouldn't be without my Dave. :)

Re: Cats and Rats
Thanks, Lillith. I reckon it's as you say and Dave will know by instinct if the prey is tainted (I hope) I have mentioned the rat problem to the landlords agent, but nothing is done, and frankly the thought of ANY animal suffering a long, painful death is abhorrent to me. I will just have to be extr...

Cats and Rats
I live in a very old house which is divided into separate units. I can hear the rats running, scratching and squeaking behind the skirting boards mostly at night. Recently, Dave has discovered a rat hole outside and, with a cats unwavering patience, lies in wait for the rats to emerge. And his patie...

Re: Recent cat disappearances in twickenham
I don't think it's foxes doing the damage. More likely humans IMO or a dog. There are many foxes here and I feed them, and I've seen the foxes running away from the cats. I've even seen a cat swipe at a fox when it (the fox) was attempting to eat the food which the cat was guarding. Foxes seem to be...

Re: I'm about to lose my beautiful boy
My thoughts are with you and your beautiful boy, Thierry. Know that you are doing what is kindest for your little one. I know that anything anyone says is no comfort, we want our fur babies back as they were, well and healthy. I know that only too well. But knowing we are not alone in our grief for ...

My Dave....One Year On.
Not been on here for some time, folks. I've had a crisis to deal with and it triggered my BiPolar but all is well now. :) So I thought I would bring you all (those who remember the Dave Saga) up to date on his progress. It's now just over a year since Dave and I made that journey from Ipswich to Nor...

Re: How to cheer myself up after my cats death?
I am very sorry about Fifi; however, perhaps you could have warned readers about the content of your post. I don't think speculating on how she died in this much graphic detail is likely to cheer you up. Try to concentrate on her life and your memories of her, not the manner of her death. There are ...

Re: I'm scared of my CAT! He attacked! HELP! -- New Dog in
You will have to send the dog back I reckon. Why try to keep the cat and dog in the same house if you are in this state about it? Is it that important that you have a dog. The cat is terrified and stressed, your stressed and the dog is stressed. What do you want, cat, dog or neither because you obvi...

Yes...I'm afraid I thought...'yeah, right' when I read the add. I would have to be Steven Hawking level of disability before I'd even consider getting rid of Dave. But then I would move Heaven and Earth to find a way to keep him. My cat is more to me than any amount of money. Thank you for your thou...

Thank you Kay and Bobbys Girl. He seems to have picked up now and is out and about. But I will make an appointment with the vet, as I cannot think of anything worse than summat down your ear having suffered with my lugs since childhood.

Question For All Cat Lovers.
What level of disability would force you into selling your pedigree cat..or indeed any cat. I ask because I saw an advert on a selling site from a person who was/is 'reluctantly' selling their pedigree cat for a three figure sum because of worsening disability. Now, I may be doing this person a mis ...

Re: Cat behaviour - I need to re-home. Please help.
Have you considered a cat behaviourist? They can work wonders with cats who have problems like this. Your vet could perhaps refer you. I would try anything going to keep the cats if I were you. But don't advertise them on Gumtree or FB if you do decide to re home. The poor little souls could end up ...

Worried About Dave
Hello everyone, I am a little bit worried about Dave, my rescue cat. He is eating ok but last night he became quite lethargic, and this morning he took ages to get 'out of bed' but he's gone for a stroll now. He keeps folding his left ear down and shaking his head. I noticed he was doing that last w...

Hi Lilith and Bobbys Girl. :) Yes, Dave is quite tall with fairly long legs....and he's heavy. Lol. And very vocal. Actually, I can hear him now yowling at another cat in the courtyard. :o My housing troubles are over, thank God. And all well here. I am now on line at home so I can visit this fab si...

Dear Mongoose, I am so very sorry for your loss. It is the most awful, empty feeling when we lose a much loved pet. I know exactly how you feel right now. Nothing anyone can say can ease the heartache.

Hi Nanny. Thank you. Yes, I loved Dave from the outset. And he has been such a comfort during the past few, rather bleak months. At one point, I was very close to losing my home and for myself, I was resigned to it. But I was so distressed about Dave and what I would do with him. A friend would have...

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted here. All sorts have been happening in the past months. Some good, mostly not so good. Yes, I saw this on the Ipswich Star notice board. How awful! I have made my niece aware of this as she has two. Thank God I took Dave when I did. He could have ended up God-knows-where and for some ghastly purpose. Labs, dog bait, fur farms. It makes me feel sick to think of all those poor little da...

Dave Update.
Hello everyone. Just thought I would let you all know how Dave, my adopted stray is doing. He is coming on marvellously and is so affectionate and loving. My chest is covered in scratches where he has cuddled up and started 'treading'. He is eating well and he has a weekly treat of some cook...
