From Bromley & District Cat Rescue's Cat Chat page:

SEPT UPDATE: Sara is now being boarded at our vets, as she was so unhappy being around the other cats at the rescue. She is happier now, but this is by no means ideal, for her or for us (as it's costing us money we can ill afford to board her there!).

We are now trying to find someone in the Bromley area who could foster Sara for us - short term or long term - we will cover her keep. If you live in or near to Bromley and think you could foster Sara, and you have NO other cats, please get in touch!
Sara loves people but really does not like other cats!!!

Sara has landed up in rescue here at age 16, through no fault of her own. Her owners simply couldn't care for their cats any more.

Sara is desperate for a home of her own - ideally as an only cat. She loves people, but is not happy with so many other cats around. A couple of the other cats are trying their best to make friends with her, and she tolerates them, but overall poor Sara is getting quite stressed here at the rescue.

We realise that very few people will consider a cat of Sara's age, so if we can't find her a permanent home, we would be willing to home her as a "permanent foster" whereby we would cover any future, age-related vet bills. We just want to give Sara the chance to be happy and relaxed in her retirement years, and at the moment she is not happy at all!

Sara is in good health, has been recently vet-checked, and looks younger than her years. She is understandably finding being in the rescue very strange, after coming from a normal home. At her age, she just can't understand what's happened, and why she should be here, with all these other cats that she doesn't know. Her distress is clear, and because of it she can be a little growly and grumpy - well, until she is just with humans, then she is affectionate and as happy as can be! We would dearly love to find a cat-experienced home, where there are either no other cats, (or perhaps another friendly cat), with an owner who will give Sara the time and consideration to relax in her own time, and who will not expect too much of her at first.

It is ony being in rescue that is causing Sara's unhappiness, she will blossom in a proper home again. It's heartbreaking to think that being 16, it's very unlikely that anyone will open their heart and home to her, to give her the quiet, comfy retirement that she deserves.

Sara's wish is to find a kind hearted person, to offer her a quiet, caring home for her senior years. Could that be you..? If the prospect of potential future vet bills is an issue, please ask us about homing Sara as a "permanent foster" and we could pay any future age-related vet bills.

I'm in Bromley but can't take her as I have other cats, the rescue should post about Sara in the local free paper which usually creates a great response

Re: BROMLEY - Sara (16) - Now Homed!!

Great news just in from Bromley & District Cat Rescue - Sara has been homed today (17th Sept) thanks to her Cat Chat listing. She has gone to live with a single chap who has just recently lost his elderly cat. Sara was spotted on CC by the man's sister, who apparently rang him straight up and told him Sara was the cat for him – and it sounds like it was love at first sight.

Happy Ending!!!!
