Pepper: young female urgently needs rehoming -Gtr Manchester

Me and my husband are relocating to the US for a couple of years and we've taken the really hard decision to try and re-home our cat Pepper. We've tried asking people we know and we've advertised her on Gumtree to go to a good home but we've not had the best of luck and we are out of options as we leave for the US in two weeks.

Pepper is a black/white British Short Hair female cat who will be 4 at the end of September. We've had her since she was a tiny kitten (fully litter trained) and she was spayed at 6 months.

She can be a bit skitty and only likes to be stroked from those she trusts (not many people at the moment). She's prone to randomly jumping and running off (as well as scratching furniture or carpets if she's trying to get into a room when the door is closed) but most of the time she's happy being left alone (until she meows for attention!). With her skitty nature, she's probably best being with someone experienced or who's got the patience to let her get used to them (so this probably rules out young children - she's not had much exposure to them but when she has, she's gone to hide).

We had another female cat (who was re-homed a few weeks ago) but they didn't get on (swiping and chasing each other, Pepper not wanting to be around the other cat etc). Therefore, I'd also say she's not good with other pets.

We'd like to know she's somewhere safe before we go as there's no-one else who we know who can take care of her!
