Hi, my neighbour is having to move out and can't take her cats with her. 1 ginger male cat aged 10+ and 1 grey white female cat aged 12+ Both cats are outside/indoor cats and have been neutered and have lovely friendly personalities. These cats were brought up with dogs and are dog friendly. Hoping to find homes for them asap as owner has to vacate her property in the next week or two. Neighbour has tried all the cat charities but they have no room at the moment and time is running out.

I would love to take the cats myself as they are real lap cats. Unfortunately my old cat Cleo hates other cats and has already attacked neighbours cats a few times. If anyone can help or advise please reply asap. Thanks.

Cat Chat’s rehoming advice page should help: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/rehome-pet-cat

You don't say why your neighbour can't take the cats with her - if it's to do with rented accommodation, we have a page on that here: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/renting-with-cats

I wouldn't really advise trying to rehome these cats privately, unless it's to someone your neighbour already knows. Usually safer to enlist the help of a rehoming organisation - some will help with "direct" rehoming (although it doesn't sound like there is much time for that). As she is on such a tight timescale, she will need to let rescue organisations know that, so that these cats can be prioritised.

If your neighbour need further advice, she could email Cat Chat’s Help Desk for further advice: cat.advice (at) catchat.org

Hope that helps!
