Smudge - time running out? (Teesside area)

Hi all,
Smudge apparently needs a home by 17th September as his family are getting evicted
He's 15 so obviously no-one is rushing in, but he's meant to be an affectionate cat. I'd take him on, but we're looking at adopting a pair of cats who can't be separated (just as difficult to re-home), the pair apparently aren't keen on other cats. Does anyone know know of someone who might take him on?
