TWENTY for 2020: 3 Girls (Homed!)

Post by Lisa-D »

To mark Cat Chat's 20th Anniversary, our "Twenty for 2020" Campaign aims to find homes for the 20 most overlooked cats in rescue: https://www.catchat.org/twenty-for-2020

Number 4 on our campaign are...

3 GIRLS

These 3 semi-feral girls have been in the care of Cat Neutering Stratford upon Avon for over two years. A barn, stables, yard or outbuilding is where they'll be their happiest. They'll need some time to warm up to unfamiliar faces and new surroundings, but the rescue will help you make this settling in period a success. From then on, it's a lifetime of outdoor 'ferally' fun.

Not only do these gorgeous girls need a home, they also need names! So it's competition time!

Name, share, win! Post your three NAME suggestions and SHARE the original post. If your names are selected, you will WIN £100 worth of essential equipment to give to your favourite UK animal rescue. Need some inspiration? Visit the girls' website linked below!

*One winner will be selected and notified at 3pm on the 30th April '20. The equipment kindly donated by award-winning MDC Exports will be sent to the winners chosen UK rescue organisation.

We are thrilled to say that the 3 GIRLS are now HOMED!!!

Thank you to everyone who shared / posted / tweeted for the 3 Girls on our campaign - it worked!!

These 3 girls were in the care of Cat Neutering Stratford upon Avon for over two years.

But thanks to your help, they have found the perfect, permanent home. Although pretty, the girls are only affectionate to each other, and really didn't want to be picked up for a cuddle. They're ferals. Otherwise known as low maintenance, independent, 24-hour pest controllers!

Their new people knew that the girls needed to stay together, and so have adopted all three, which is a fantastic result. They will have all the outdoor space they need, and with a caring owner to make sure their needs are met. After an initial period of getting used to their new surroundings, the girls can now look forward to a lifetime of outdoor 'ferally' fun.

Competition update:

You might remember that back in April we ran a competition to find names and to highlight our 3 feral campaign cats. The winner was Alexandra Cook who suggested Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. We are delighted to say that these gorgeous girls were subsequently seen within our campaign promotions and are now well and truly settled into their new life on a farm.

Alexandra asked for the £100 worth of MDC humane animal handling equipment to be given to Ashmore Rescue for Cats and they recently sent us this update ...

"After almost a whole month of trying to get this little girl to safety, she was finally caught today. She flatly refused to enter a trap so a kind lady has spent her time while furloughed sitting on her doorstep winning her trust. Eventually, the little cat became confident enough to come right up to her to eat and have a fuss and the lady was able to place the special MDC basket over her to catch her! She will be called Mandy after the lovely lady who got her to safety :). We discovered that Mandy is pregnant with at least her third (possibly fourth) litter but it will definitely be her last. As soon as her kittens are weaned, and Mandy is feeling fit, we will have her neutered. Thank you so much to Cat Chat for running the competition, Alexandra Cook for giving us the prize and MDC for designing such fabulous items".
