Home for a Maine Coon, London

After many years of waiting for the right time, kids to get older etc, we are now ready to offer a home to a Maine Coon cat.

We live in North London but are prepared to travel for our new family member. We have a fairly large garden, and we'd love a cat who can enjoy being out in it (though he or she would have a cat flap and would be kept in at night).

We work from home so there’s someone around almost all of the time. Our children are nearly 4 and nearly 6, and have been taught to be very calm and gentle around animals - though they are of course still quite young, so we’re looking for a cat who is pretty confident. The cat will also be able to 'get away from it all' in our office upstairs, where the kids aren't allowed! Our only pets are 2 goldfish. We’re looking for a Maine Coon as my mum had a rescue boy who was adorable. We love their temperament. We’ve both owned cats in the past, though not for many years.

We’re prepared to wait for the right cat to come up in rescue. Ideally under 5, but gender, colour etc not important - just the right fit for our family.

Fingers crossed :)

It's great that you're looking to adopt an adult cat. :)

Here's a gorgeous 5 year old male that needs a home (scroll down):

Thanks loads Marla - Paddington looks ace, but he doesn't like dogs, and we may want a dog at some point in the future (definitely not for at least 2 years) so I figured he'd be better without that potential future stress.

We're definitely prepared to wait for the right cat to come up in rescue. Also expanding our search to include Norwegian Forest Cats as they seem very similar to MCs!

We've rehomed a wonderful MC from Cats Protection today, so our search is over.

Thank you, and this can be closed now :D

If you don't mind me asking. How did you find a MC through adoption centres? Was it a case of just ringing up?

We're in a very similar situation and would love to rehome a MC, we've enquirer about Paddinggton but sadly (for us only ) he's rehomed.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated
