Looking for second cat, Pontypridd, Wales

Post by vicjlewis »

I have a 2 1/2 year old cat at home who is extremely loving and playful. I would absolutely love to find her a playmate.

She is a little timid when it comes to other cats but extremely curious. I am looking for a younger cat (1 year or younger) who can keep up with her!

How lovely! Please do use this site to find rescues in your local area and discuss with them the type of profile cat that you need to match yours - rescues and fosterers generally have a really good idea about the sociability and characters of their residents, and it's important to find another kitten/young cat who is well socialised, loving and playful - and who likes interacting with other cats. I was very specific when looking for a playmate for my 6 month old and ended up with a slightly younger kitten (4 months) who was very sociable and LOVED play. It worked straight away.

Good luck in your search for a companion - there are so many cats needing homes that you will find one soon enough. I don't think the sex matters, as long as he or she is neutered (any proper rescue will do this) and I'd say go for one a little younger, who has all those play imperatives! What's most important is that your choice likes socialising with other cats and humans - the colour and type is irrelevant.
