I have a 2 year old cat who was born without eyes. He is a happy and wonderfull cat.
He never had his eyes stiched closed so his eyelids are starting to turn under and irritate his sockets. Two vets are encouraging me to remove the 3rd eyelid and tear ducts and stitch his eyes closed; preventing many possible future problems.
I selfishly don't want his eyes sewn shut and am wondering if there are other solutions. Elderly people often get 'a stitch or two' to keep eyelashes from hitting the eye. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd love to hear about your experiences.
Thank you,
~ Molly
