Interferon

Hi all!

Does anyone know where you can purchase interferon online or from veterinary clinics?

I joined an FIP group on Facebook and there is a man in New York who is desperately looking to purchase this medicine for his recently diagnosed cat. Personally, I don't know if it would help. I read such mixed reviews about use of this drug for cats with FIP but I can totally understand his desperation for help.

If anyone knows where he could get this, please let me know.

I have a cat on Interferon and it is a prescription only medication, I buy mine through the vet.

Does your cat have FIP? Do you mind me asking where you are from - UK based?

I think this poor man will have trouble getting this drug in USA as from everything I read, it seems only available in Europe.

No luckily he doesn't have FIP, he's a chronic Calici carrier (cat flu virus) and the Interferon is used as an anti-viral immune booster. I'm in the UK and believe it's manufactured in Europe (France I think).

I have to say it's keeping his immune system strong (he was in a mess before he started on it) and he's been able to fight off the secondary infections without much need for veterinary intervention.
