Hi everybody
Been awhile since I've used the forum .. Just needed a bit of advice my cat Kitty is 10 years old and her arthritis seems to have come back now the weather has changed . I have started her on metacam and got her a cat electric blanket trying to keep her warm . Is there anything else I can do to help her ??
I have wooden floors which is great in summer for my other cat ( huge ball of fluff ) but I'm now thinking of putting carpet down in bedroom as that's her favourite room .
She has orthopaedic mattress and steps to get on and off our bed and sofa . I hate seeing her so wobbly and uncomfortable .
Seraquin makes her sick ?
We would love any advice
Advice for arthritis please

Re: Advice for arthritis please
Quite expensive, but I bought my Alice an Infra-Red heated bed and she seemed to get a lot of comfort from it http://www.steadfastcorp.com/Thermotex-Small-Pet-Bed" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I can't guarantee that it was any better than a regular heated bed, but apparently infra-red does help. http://i.imgur.com/lFLGR6K.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I also gave her corta-vet capsules, which claim to contain the isolates of the active ingredients, which they say work better. http://www.medicanimal.com/Dogs/Supplem ... tAodVw0ACw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It comes in liquid form too. I used to sprinkle the contents of a capsule on Alice's treat meal each day that she always finished
Another thing you might want to consider is a course of Cartrophen injections. I don't know much about it, but I wasn't aware of it when Alice was around. It was only recently when my vet used it to treat cystitis. It is an arthritis treatment, but the vet said it can also help inflamed bladders. The main is quite a few vet trips are needed. They inject every few days for about 10 days and then weekly for a few more weeks. The effect lasts for a while. http://www.cartrophen.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Advice for arthritis please
Thank you so much I will order the bed and tablets ...
I think that I may have to take her to vets she seems to be dragging her back right leg , she gets so stressed at vets I hate it.
She has been really active lately and then the weather got cold and she's like a different cat .. Still eating loads of tuna and chicken .
I'm wondering if she has hurt herself when she was feeling active starting to think she was a cat ... Even climbing from sofa to sofa ...
Thank you for your advice x
