How often should a cat poo?

Post by AhmedUK »

I was reading some people saying their cats go 2-3 times a day?

TC only goes once a day, sometimes he doesn't go for 28-30 hours. It always bothers me when he doesn't as he still wants treats but I worry that he will feel bloated and uncomfortable.

one of mine only goes every other day - she eats a 90% dry diet, which I suspect makes them poo less frequently

Most of mine poo pretty much once a day, which I believe to be 'normal', though one of mine does sometimes skip the odd day but never seems bothered by that. I recently fostered a seven week old kitten and was surprised to find that she went two or three times a day - apparently they do poo more often when they're younger. As I was also feeding her more often that I do the adult cats, that made sense.

Ah, well it is good to know other cats that are happy also don't go so often, I was getting worried TC might be in discomfort because he couldn't go more often.

Thanks.
