I was a week late in my monthly cat flea treatment and he's now got fleas I've treated him yesterday with fipronil spot on and there's still live adult fleas on him, none in carpets that I can tell! Is the treatment working ?? Thanks for any advice !
You'll need to treat the whole house, and thoroughly clean to remove all eggs in nooks and crannies, ie corners of rooms, bedding, sofa cushions etc. Otherwise once the treatment has worn off the cat, he will just keep getting reinfected. The treatments usually kill the eggs rather than the flea, so don't worry too much if there are adult fleas on him - they'll soon die off.
I don't treat my lot regularly, just when I find they're infested, and then I blitz the house as well, and that usually does the trick for about 6-12 months.
