Re: get water into your cat
Adding water to food is always a good idea as I've found put recently...I've also found that my boy likes filtered water more than tap water. I've also noticed he is more likely to drink when the water bowl is filled right up to the top so I make sure I change it daily..

yes i always let water rest for 24 hours when out of tap before i give also use filtered if possible, and as well as putting water in food i leave out different kinds and sizes of bowls.
i am sooo happy to see them taking more water i love it.

To be honest if little ones don't seem to much drink water, I would not worry too much if they are having lots of wet food, if you look on the tins at the contents you will notice that many brands have a very large water content, some over 80%.

I agree there is a LOT of water in wet food! I'm just trying to add extra because my boy has had a couple of blockages recently and I will try anything to prevent it happening again.
Thanks hetkermar, that's my Ernie, I think you're just seeing his ear poking out from behind his paw

Re: get water into your cat
I've given up trying to get our cat to drink ... even filtered water as Lin suggested. The only way to get liquid into him is mix a couple of teaspoons of water to his food which the vet said yesterday was absolutely fine due to him recovering from a bout of FIC.
Love all the photos of cats here ... will have to upload one of our 'elderly gentleman' (nicknamed by local vet) - though might be a bit of sarcasm there - a 'gentleman' he isn't!
