Roommate's cat peeing

Post by Brookworm »

Hi, everyone, I'm looking for some advice. I just moved into a new apartment only to find that my roommate's cats (both fixed) spray in front of my door while she's at work. I took a blacklight to the hallway to find the spots and discovered that they have stained nearly 90% of the carpet, even trailing down the stairs.

I'd really like to stay in this apartment, but can only do so if 1) the carpet can be thoroughly, entirely cleaned, and 2) the cats can be managed or taught not to spray.

Do I have any hope at all, or should I start looking for a new place to live?

Hi Brookworm see my post re kitten peeing below. Others with more expertise in this will post but you need to remove the urine smell. 'Urine Off' is a product we can buy here. Depending on extent a few goes may be needed. Don't use any ammonia products as this attracts cats. Sure a positive outcome will eventuate. Keep us posted. Vivian
