Hard Lump on cat tail tip

Hey guys
So my toddler trapped my cats tail tip in the door a week or so ago. Hes fine, it bled when it happened but we checked it and nothing was exposed and it wasn't bent. He is eating normal, using the litter tray fine, jumping up and down off things. Totally fine besides being terrified of my son now.
The only difference is he has a hard lump on the very very tip of his tail. I thought it was broke but hes jumping, eating, using the toilet, behaviour is fine, so I'm not too sure. (Him being totally normal is why we didn't take him to the vets)
I'm wondering if its something that will go with time? I can touch the lump and put pressure on it slightly (not aggressively!) and it doesn't bother him at all. So doesnt seem painful in the slightest. Could it be like a small fracture or something?
