Cat Acne

Post by laurenaubree »

My cat has acne that is spreading rapidly under his chin. It started with one small spot, and now he has 4 large spots including some that looks like it’s growing onto his lip. We’ve taken him to the vet twice, where they don’t give us much help. We’ve been given two different kinds of ointment that don’t seem to be doing anything...

Has anyone ever experienced this/know of any home remedies that may work? I tried posting a picture but it’s too large. I don’t want it to get too bad):

I found hypercal ointment effective and safe - marigold and St John's wort in a lanolin base. You want the salve or ointment rather than the cream - several companies still make it and you can get it online or at Holland and Barrett. I have also seen hibiscrub recommended.
