Hello, I would appreciate anyone's help in this issue.
Our cat's nose has been disappearing slowly, like it's being eaten away.. we went to the veterinarian and she had no idea what is causing it. The cat is eating and living like this for over a year now and we don't know what to do. She is 14-15 years old. Anyone has any guess what may cause this? Is the cat in pain? Maybe we should put her to sleep? Please advise, see attached photo. Thank you.

Re: Cat- sustained nose injury
What has the vet tested for? It looks very much like a skin cancer on the planum (nose surface) to me, has the vet ruled that out?

My first thought is squamous cell carcinoma, although it does tend to be fast growing - I had a cat with pre cancerous SCC, hers looked like scabs on her nose
