wet food

Post by bsh192 »

hello,
my cat stopped eating raw food around 4 months ago and i've had him on lilys wet food which he eats a lot of. in a perfect world i'd love him to be back on raw as it seems to be more filling than eating 3 lilys a day + other bits of chicken, but not going to force it. i wondered if lilys is ok or if there is anything better that anyone has experience of - it seems like the gravy is quite addictive and maybe the protein isnt so high as he wants to eat all the time, whereas on raw, he was content with two portions a day

Wet food moisture is about 80% , so 80% is water and thats explain why he is eating much more .

You could try various brands of both wet and dry food , but if you are gonna go for the dry one i would better stick to royal canine , it is much healthier i think .

My cat used to eat friskies dry food but she developed diabetes after 13 years , so i would rather stick to high protein food too .

Cats are carnivores and the main food component they eat is proteins by nature , so some ppl prefer to feed their cats raw or semi-raw meats .

Someone recommended Simpson’s to me, which you can get online. It’s got a very high meat content, is grain free and organic. I bought some. My cat loved it but it didn’t help his allergies any so he’s back on the hypoallergenic the vet gave him. I thought a “high quality” cat food might work just as well as the specialist hypoallergenic stuff for stopping him itching but it didn’t. It’s probably good stuff though and more nutritious than the average cat food.
