Advocate - not eating/behaviour changes

Hi All,
I'll keep this short, Smokey has gone onto spot on Advocate due to having fleas (after the vets saying he didn't have them)... he had it last night and today he hasn't eaten a thing, which isn't like him at all. He is also hiding behind furniture.
I know advocate is stronger but is this a common side effect? Not sure I'd want him to continue on it if it makes him poorly. He is also looking so sad n not himself.
