Odd feeding habits?

Post by nyan »

I just posted a different question.

I got two stray kits who come for chow. One male, one female. I noticed that if I pour out a can of fish on the ground, the male will eat first and the female only when the male has finished. Is this normal? Even though there is plenty of space for both cats to eat at same time.

I never had a pet house cat so this is all new to me.

I'd try feeding them further apart, not all cats like eating so close to another - I have a mother and daughter who won't eat next to each other, they eat a few feet apart from each other.

Thanks Tigger 😸

I wondered if it was a male/female pattern.

Tomorrow I'll pour out the can in two different places 🙏😺
