My friends cat

My friend has a black cat whose one eye is very big and misshapen went to regular vet, referred him to specialist. He spent almost 5,000 dollars for them to tell him they think is cancerous tumor but did not show on any of the tests. He still eats, goes outside, is making breathing sounds, I feel so bad for him, I go over every day to pet and comfort him. He loves that and purrs. He has an appt for Thursday, anyone know of anything like this with a cat
