Comet has cut on his paw pad

Post by KittyWitty »

We realised yesterday hat Comet had a laceration on his right front paw pad - it looks like it may have been cause by a rough bit of wood on our door frames (I am guessing). He is walking fine on it but we found fresh droplets of blood on the floor this morning, I've checked both cats over thoroughly and see no other cuts or anything where the blood may be coming from but this cut on Comet - on inspection the cut does not seem to be bleeding and I can't tell if it's got bigger but it is clean.

I don't know what to do, and if I attempt to clean it - how should I do this?

Why do these things always happen on the weekend or during the night!

Anything you put on that paw will be licked away. It will heal on its own if it doesn't get infected. Which it won't if Comet takes care of it.

I'd just keep an eye on it. You could try bathing it in a little boiled salt water if it looks dirty.
