Hello.
One of my cats has red eyes and fever. The vet has no idea about the disease that is causing it. He does not have other symptoms, but he seems to me very sick. I am so worried about him and the other cats. Can you please help me? Thank you.

Hello, I'm sorry but I do not have any experience with this, I'm sure somebody will come along and try to help/advise. X

Hello cat lover
Welcome to CC
How old is the cat, how long have you had him, how long has he had the symptoms?
TBH if one of mine had a fever I would take to a vet to get them checked over.
Please let us know how you get on.
BTW love your user name! Can't believe no one else though of it!

Re: Red eyes
Hmmm strange. Is he/she still eating ok?
Re: Red eyes
Thank you, Walesgang.
I have this cat since he was born. He is 1,5 years old.
The symptoms started on Wednesday.
I think that is still eating ok. He never ate that much, he is very thin.
He is taking an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drug.
The vet said that he could take blood tests, but only on Monday. Meanwhile I think that the poor cat is getting blind.

Re: Red eyes
I'm glad to read he's on the antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Hopefully they will give him a chance to heal, what ever the problem may be. Have you and the vet checked him all over for cuts or abscesses? Are his eyes watery, or just red? My first thought was the flu for some reason - the fever certainly indicates an infection of some sort. Please let us know how he's getting on.
If you think that the cat's sight is being affected, make sure you keep him indoors and warm - if he can't see and he's outdoors he could easily come to grief.

Re: Red eyes
If you suspect he is losing his sight then keep him indoors and dont move the furniture. Until Monday keep an eye out.

Re: Red eyes
I was thinking cat flu as well Lyn.
My Mr Grey used to get very bad eyes. ABs will help if that's the case.
I have a cat who has been blind since she was about six months old. She has access to a secure garden, but I would not let her outside of the fenced area. She leads a pretty normal life, so if your boy is losing his sight, that in itself is not a huge issue.
Hopefully your vet will get to the bottom of the problems soon
