cat tracker

Post by lizzyh »

Hello does anyone have any experience with cat trackers? One of my cats, Blue, a large ragdoll, went missing for 3 days. After franticly searching for him via posters, door knocking and the internet, he came trotting him not a care in the world! I know peoples opinions differ whether raggies should be indoor only cats, however, he loves the big outdoors, I dont live on a main road or a high traffic volume area. Blue can hunt, chase, stand his ground just like my other moggies. For the time being he is grounded, I have tried a harness which he hates so I am now considering a tracker. I am interested in others opinions or experiences, thank you x

I have the Loc8tor Plus (http://www.loc8tor.com/uk/children/loc8 ... undle.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) which is quite good. The tags can be selotaped to a collar, and if a tag gets lost and can't be find you can get replacements for about 10 quid each. It comes with 4 tags, two of them allow you to set up a safety zone, which alerts the main device if the target moves beyond a specified range.

There are plenty of examples on youtube, such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u98LI4l9oyo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
