Boris has a bad bottom

Post by cathyday »

The last couple of days Boris has had quite a squitty bottom which is unusual for him.
I plan on calling the vet tomorrow but does anyone have any tips on what to feed him until then? We're thinking plain chicken?
He's been losing weight steadily for a few weeks so is still having tests to find out why. He's lost almost a kilo since this time last year. No cause has yet been found....

Oh poor Boris. My vet usually suggests white fish or chicken, with a bit of rice or mashed potato. Hope you can get him sorted soon. Good luck with the vet visit.

I do boiled white fish or chicken, or Hills I/D (prescription) when mine have dodgy tummies.

Oh, bless him. You might have been to the vet by now, but I've found that RC Gastro Intestinal works well. Prescription again.

Hi All.
Took Boris to the vet where Steve checked him over & concluded he had gastroenteritis. He had a couple of jabs & some medicine to have once per day to settle things down.
3 days later & my boy has not been ill since & has fully regained his appetite. In fact he's eating more now than he has in weeks.
Trouble is he's not yet had a pooh in 3 days. I know sometimes us humans can take a few days to get back to normal but this seems a long time for a cat.
Anyone else have any advice on this? He seems really happy in himself and is currently purring away on Glens lap.

Thanks everyone. Boris is back to normal now & we're hoping he stays that way now for a while.
