Visible pulse on the chest?

Post by catzcatzcatz »

Hey,

My cat has a slight visible pulse on her chest (I say pulse... it looks like a heart beat but I'm no vet). It's not there all the time. I noticed it after she ran up the stairs, but mainly also when she's resting on her belly (she's not sticking her neck out to breathe or anything - just normal resting), and also VERY slight when she's sitting up. She certainly doesn't seem to be struggling with anything, and it is *touch wood* slight.

She saw the vet roughly two weeks back, and has seen has seen the vet a number of times in the past few months. The only diagnoses was gingivitis - for which we're using a gel - other than that she's been told she's fine. She was a stray and she's around 5 years old.

I don't want to harrass my vet. I seem to speak to him/them almost every other day, and just two days ago we had a consult (without the cat), at which we asked a bunch of questions, though I didn't notice this 'pulse' until after the appointment, so I'm reluctant to ring up or email again.

Do other people's cats have this? I'm getting very panicky about it; about what it might or might not be, whether I need to speak to them or not.

Please no playing the role of a vet. Just let me know whether your cat does this or not.

Maybe it's more the throat than chest? This video (although hard to make out) is quite similar.
