I have one more video of her for you, taken last month while she was ill, but not too bad, and her bad side is pointing away from the camera

I'm so sorry, but the fact she has gone peacefully and the vet says you did the right thing means a lot. I'm glad you have good memories of her

You did your best for her right to the end. She is at peace now, no more pain or discomfort.
RIP sweet girl, play happily at the Bridge.
((Hugs)) to you and your husband.

I'm so sorry to hear about poor Lila. At least you knew without doubt that you'd tried everything possible for her, and given her every chance, there are some battles our frail bodies can't win. While you know you did the right thing, it's still so heartbreaking to say goodbye to them, and it leaves such a huge hole in your world. Be kind to yourselves. Sleep tight little Lila.

RIP Lila.....
She is at peace now, and you and your husband will be too, in time. Allow yourselves to grieve and be as kind to yourselves and each other as you always were to Lila. Kindness is a very underestimated quality, and one which we so so often forget to apply to ourselves.
Take care, and do come back to catchat when you are ready. We need people like you here, and in the world in general. Xxxx

Just wanted to thank you all, and say I am ok. It's hard, and very lonely, but I'm ok... or I will be anyway. I miss her terribly

Re: Lila's squamous cell carcinoma journey..
Hullo, yes, this is the worst time now; bereavement is a cruel process and nothing comforts. I still remember how I felt after losing Tess, who was the same age as Lila (Tess had to be put to sleep after being run over) even though I had my other cats.
I've kept thinking of you and Lila and so I'm sure have many people on here. Lila was such a lovely cat and I think she'll stay in a lot of people's memories. I'm still so very sorry that she had to leave you at such a young age.
Do keep in touch and chat if you need, lots of love and hugs and best wishes, love, Lil x

Re: Lila's squamous cell carcinoma journey..
Just wanted to update you all, that we are probably going to be rehoming two kittens soon
I wanted to post here as it's the only place I've really posted, but I will venture out of this thread, I promise!
We're having some builders come to do a couple of bits next week, which should hopefully taking a week, then some final kitten proofing tweaking, and then we'll be ready to go to sanctuary.. I don't want to reserve any in advance as the builder was supposed to come this Monday but already delayed work twice, so it's easier to wait for him to be done! Nobody wants kittens under the floorboard, eating paint or traumatised by weird noises, so we will wait.
It's been really hard and lonely this Summer without my baby Lila with me, but we've taken a good amount of time to grieve. She'll always be in our hearts.

Re: Lila's squamous cell carcinoma journey..
When my original cat family eventually passed on, I felt that I was honouring them by deciding to always have a large family of cats - it showed how much we had enjoyed having them in our lives. I'm so pleased that you are going to adopt a couple of rescue kittens - I wish you all much happiness.
