It must be so upsetting for you and worrying. Let's hope she will soon turn a corner and they let her come home.

It's a relief that Squeak and Grey seem to be ok. I think you could be right about their previous life on the farm. Whatever they were exposed to there may well have strengthened their immune system. Thank goodness for that!

Tips seems a bit overwelmed with things. She has been a bit disorientated, running into things.

She is very cuddly with us though.

She has had a few mouthfuls of food, and has now settled down to sleep. She must be exhausted poor lamb.

Henry has been a bit quieter tonight, and hasn't eaten as enthusiastically as the past couple of days, but again he has settled down to sleep.

Hopefully things will look brighter in the morning for them both

I'm not surprised really that Tips is a bit disorientated. She will improve tomorrow I feel sure. It's good that she's had a little food too.

Henry probably doesn't quite know what to make of things either.

Just cuddle your lovely girl and see what the morning brings.

So happy they are home. Don't you just hate it when they are at the vets and your literally praying for the moment where the vet says they can come home!!!

Tips has settled down today luckily!

She tends to get disorientated when she does not think straight, such if she is spooked etc. I think her disorientation yesterday was the trauma of being poorly and being in a strange place.

The vet said that all they could get her to eat when she was in was a few dreamies! She doesn't normally get them at home. Squeak has the odd one as a treat but we don't really let them eat them.

Her appetite has been ok today. She hasn't lost her fight in terms of pilling! He ho, 6more days to go!

Henry was quiet this morning, and hasn't eaten all his food, but he's ok compared with last week.

Hopefully they are both on the mend.

Squeak and Grey (touch wood) seem fine

Have you ever tried Thrive chicken or fish treats? They're natural and freeze dried. When either of mine have been really off their food a few treats starts them eating again. The treats can be crunched into a powder and sprinkled on a tiny bit of wet food - might get Tips interested?

Hi everyone

The pluses are more than the minuses so I think we have turned a corner

Tips has been pretty lively and eaten some of her food each meal, although she hasn't eaten a lot. That is real progress. She's been playing - in fact, she's been quite demanding asking for play which is great

Henry is eating about half his normal meals, which is ok. He is super cuddly which is lovely.

The main downers are Tips total lack of playing the game with pills. I have never known such a challenging cat! I seem to remember she was the reason for switching to a spot on wormer rather than a pill! Even when we get a good throw down the back of her throat she holds it for ages without swallowing and somehow manages to move it to the side and out!

The other thing was Henry was sleeping on our bed last night. We woke to hear him heaving. We gone him onto the floor in time before he was sick. It's the first time he has thrown up since the weekend, and he seems ok today so hopefully it was a blip.

It's so wonderful with them showing their characters again

Great news! Dear Tips and Henry - if they are behaving normally this is a really important sign. You must be so relieved! Hope you have a peacefully, sick-free and cuddly night! x

I'm so glad they both seem better, what a relief for you.

If it's any help, my old Minnie used to try the 'holding the pill in the back of the throat and spitting it out behind the fridge' routine when I thought I'd successfully got one down the hatch, even after holding her head back and stroking her throat. I now keep a treat handy and give it to her as soon as I let her go, which makes her forget all about the pill and both go down together. It's also nice to reward her for being so greviously manhandled.

Val I'm so relieved. It was great to hear that Tips has been wanting to play and even demanding to play They are definite signs that she's feeling quite a bit better.

Hope Henry hasn't been sick since yesterday and that he is still progressing in the right direction.

What a time of it you've all had. I think you've coped really well with all the stress and anxiety of having two poorly babies.

It has been an awful time. Not helped by getting a bit of a mite outbreak in the hen house on top! Luckily we have another house we have decamped them to while we treat theirs. Horrid little critters!

Tips has been on full pelt today. You wouldn't know there's been anything wrong Henry still seems to tire and his appetite is variable.

Oh Val you could have done without a mite outbreak. My parents used to have lots of hens so I know about such horrid things. They get everywhere!

I'm thrilled that Tips has had such a good day. It's surprising that she seems to have picked up better than Henry. Hopefully he will be fully recovered soon. It's just maybe hit his system a bit harder and it's taking him longer to shake it off. That might be why he is so affectionate and wanting extra cuddles.
