Is this an impacted or infected anal gland? Advice needed.

Post by pinkpanther13 »

Hi. For a while now my cat has something attached to her right anal gland which can't be removed and I don't want to pull it off. It is fairly tough to the touch and doesn't seem to be causing her any problems. What do you guys think? Thanks.

A few weeks now. Whenever I lifted her up I thought it was a litter stone stuck to her behind after she went, but I only actually took a look properly today. I will take her to a vet if needed but wanted to ask if this was a common problem which is easily treated at home?

Hi, fully agree if you see any abnormalities on your cat you take them to the vet straight away. Hopefully a blocked gland and nothing more serious but get it checked out. Please let us know the outcome and good luck to the wee soul x
